Yes;
All responses so far have been correct, as far as I know. Having served on
our local county library advisory board for a while, I am aware the cost of
providing Ancestry and other such database services to the public can be
quite expensive. It is hundreds of times more in cost than an individual basic
subscription for one year.
But the benefits come for the library when more people begin to use their
facilities in order to access the use of those databases. And I'm sure the

Well, the second listing came through all run together. Don't know why
it sometimes does that. Here is the information for that part again.

Dear Marilyn, the info you sent me regarding a William Wymer in the 1900
census is perfect. My mother remembers her mother talking about her Uncle

There used to be 'reports' printed that listed names, parents, etc and were
published. I know this was true ca 1870 per an auction on eBay: 5608535659

Hi. Have been seeing the lookup requests going back & forth, thought I'd
jump on the bandwagon too & ask. If you do not mind, could you please look & see
if you see:
Osborn Thomas
Edward Thomas
If either 1/both are there, could you see if there is any other Thomas right
close by them?
Thank you. Hope you don't mind my asking.

Thank you so much for this info, Bob. This is a big help to all of us as you have probably saved us a trip for nothing. I will try to be patient and wait for all the filmed records when they become available at the end of the year. Listers like you are really appreciated.

Good Morning, A couple of months ago there was mention on this list of a booklet of Cincinnati Mirror Abstracts for 1831-33 by Paul Immel and Carol Montrose. Someone posted Carol's address to order one. I wrote and have had no reply; does anyone have an update on her address, I presume she doesn't email. I am still interested in purchasing this. Thank you for your help. Stephanie in Oregon

Marilyn,
Please tell me how you found the Ohio Obit. collection at ancestry.com. I
brought up the list of all databases, went to Ohio, where I found that
there were 506 (I think it was) databases; went to the D for Death and to
the O for obituary. Found neither. I'm thinking there must be a better
way to find something than to scroll through page after page looking for 1
database out of 506!
Will appreciate any suggestions.

In a quick check, on a 1935 map, the Cincinnati General Hospital is shown at
its' present location of 234 Goodman Avenue, located just west of Burnet
Ave., northeast of the University of Cincinnati campus. Assuming the Court
Street address has some validity, it could be assumed it is her residence.
Checking the County Auditor's website, there appears to be a parking garage
at that address now.

Hello,
In reviewing the City Directories for several families, I notice the
occupation "HUCKSTER". Was this a common street peddler with "cheap"
merchandise? Seems liked there were several hucksters listed...
Anyone that can enlighten me I'd be very appreciative.

Can you please see if there are any LANE's?

Barbara: One of my biggest brick walls is Mathais (Mathias) Miller of
France who married Catherine Shuh (Schuh). My g-grandmother was born in 1871 in
Cincinnati, so I assume at least both were still alive. Unless he died before
my-g-grandmother was born or her mother died in childbirth. I can find no
records so far.
thanks, Penny
