I have just found this Mailing List so here goes.
I have a JOHN WILLIAM SPENCER BROWNE who married FRANCES E. FARMER
(FANNY) abt 1822-1832. Frances was from England.
JOHN came from Cincinnati and they returned there to live.They had a lot
of descendants according to old wills and documents I have.
Do these names ring a bell to anyone. I don't know how to go about
finding American names.
Other BROWNE names are:

I am the person researching Samuel, son of Micajah and
Elizabeth(Perry)Morgan. I can add a couple more details;
Samuel was a farmer in Sharonville, also may have been a lay minister,
probably Baptist.
Samuel's first wife Eliza (Kennedy?) died about 1864/65 he then married Mary
Catherine Emmons, dau. of Rev. F.W. Emmons and Mary Hall Leonard in 1866.
At the time of this marriage, the Mary that Ellen is asking about was no
longer living with her father...possibly married by then.
Any info is gre
There is a Cornelias and Mathew in New Jersey in 1778-1780 Rev. war census.
Many of the people from this area moved to Hamilton county before 1820.

You are right, I shouldn't discount that France is so close to Germany.
They may have been from France I don't know, I am having enough trouble
trying to find them in the US!
Someone was looking for Orr family. I have an Arthur Orr in Mercer co. NJ in
1778-1780. A lot of families from this area came to Hamilton co. OH around
1800-1820.

Carthage Road Cemetery is now Vine Street Hill Cemetery and is still active.
Located at 3701 Vine St. Cincinnati, OH 45220. The entire cemetery was
indexed by the Hamilton County Genealogical Society. The book covers 1852
- 1977.
I have my own copy of the book, if you would like me to look something
up.

In Beers History of Brown County, page 254, there is a petition to select
a Justice of the Peace, by citizens of then Hamilton County, including
my ancestor Lewis Shick (Sheek, etc.). This area was later in Brown County,
OH. According to Beers, this petition was published in 1845 in
something called Cist's "Cincinnati Miscellany".

What State are you looking in for Dorthea Dinger... I had a Great Great
Aunt that was Dorthea Dinger..... They were from Lorraine France. Ferdinand
Dinger Married Marguerite Hoffman. Both Died In Cincinnati. They Had two

While reading the 6 Oct 1887 Warren Republican. There was an article on
pg 2 col 3 about the death of Jacob Hoxhoin. It stated the his mother and
sister lived in Hamilton Co. Ohio. He was a baker and had come from Germany.
His father died before the family left Germany.

remembers that she spoke German and went to a German Catholic school. She
had one brother named Joe, who died young and sisters Katie, Julia, and
Carrie. Dorothea married Jesse Ashdown Marshall in the early 1900's, date

PHILIP SCHWERDT b1/16/1827 Germany settled in Cinn., Hamilton Co., Ohio
sometime before 2/17/1857 when a daughter, WILHELMINA, was born to PHILIP
and wife MARGARETHA in Cinn.. Am seeking MARGARETHA'S maiden name, wedding
date and place, and date PHILIP SCHWERDT arrived in Ohio. All I know is
that after daughter WILHELMINA'S birth, PHILIP and MARGARITHA
Looking for family members of Georg Benning/Penning. Married to Maria.
An obiturary in Cincinnati has what I thought was Penning as Benning.
Georg died in April 1884 in Cincinnati.
