10. [OHHAMILT] "Sparbach, Baiern" need an old map [1]
Mary Ellen There is a town by the name of Baiern located about 25 km. (15 miles) southeast of Munich (Munchen). I don't see any Sparbach anywhere in the vicinity. It could be possible that it is now part of Baiern and no longer exists by itself. You will need to find an old map to determine if that is what happened. Perhaps someone on the list can help you with how to find an old map of this area. Mapquest also shows three other Baiern locations all of which are north of Munich 25 to 40 miles away. http:

25. Re: [OHHAMILT] Sparbach [1]
Mary Ellen, You can check on Web for a map locator for towns in Germany such as Sparbach. The State appears to be Bavaria (BAYERN) in German. I know it is not an easy puzzle to solve, but you are on the right track. Another way to try to locate Sparbach is to check LDS ancestry records for Germany - Bavaria- Sparbach. This would give your Church records for there, to order the tapes from LDS. Bob Niehaus (a Cinicinatian transplanted to Virginia) rniehaus@mindspring.com
