I am wondering if anyone would know of Mary Hare Kindel or more specifically
where I might find some of her writings. Apparently she was something of a
historian. She died in 1930 at age 88. Her obituary was in the Cincinnati
Post. She wrote about the Deer Creek Valley and the Longworth vineyards on one
side and her father's brewery and vineyards on the other side of the valley.
She also talked about prisoners riding out the valley to the gallows.
I am wondering if she wrote for the Post? If she

Anton ROHE is my gggrandfather. I have a record from the Univ. of Cinn. of
an Anna ROHE buried in St. Mary's Cemetery 29 Jul 1879. Her address is

I thought if I could find Anton at this Linn St. address in 1878 or 1879 it
would help verify that I am on the right track. I have written to Cinn. vital

I just visited the website for the Ohio Historical Society and see that seem to still be charging $1.00 for uncertified copies of death certificates provided you can supply the appropriate

Dear Marian or other Hamilton Co."Listers";
I'm new (again) to the Hamilton Co. List. If any of you happen to have
access to obituary records (newspaper or other), I'd love to find one for my
great grandfather, Harris Benjamin Williams and also his father's. Harris
B. Williams' death certificate says he died 14 June 1877 from internal
injuries of chest. The family story is he fell off a streetcar (inebriated?)
and got run over. He was a double amputee (no legs below the knees) and was

What is ridiculous about all of this is that the records are still available
from Salt Lake City. So anyone can still get a copy for $3.50. So what did
they actually accomplish by confiscating the records?

Hi,
I need information on a family SAUER that lived at 698 Race Street , Cincinnati, in 1876.
Head was probably a Frank or a Lawrence SAUER.
I could not find Frank or Lawrence in 1860 or 1870 censuses although they MUST have been in Cincinnati.
Maybe as SOWER, SOUERS or similar.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Dear Joyce,
I can't help you, but if you find out anything about the Odd Fellows in
Cincinnati, please let me know. I have relatives buried in the Mt. Washington
Cemetery, which was started by the Odd Fellows. The Mt. Washington Cemetery
people were very nice and gave me what information they had, but they could not
find any info on one of my great grandmothers. On the Cincinnati death record,
it said she was buried in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Somewhere I found a
national address for the Odd
