For those with a Scots, Irish, or Scots-Irish ancestry, as most of us do, this is a great subscription website and is almost all free all the time. It is more scholarly than are MANY other sites.

I've "rescued" a group of photographs which all belong to the HUTSON -
VICKERS Family of Ohio. The first is a photograph of Frank HUTSON and his
wife Emma VICKERS HUTSON. The photograph was taken at the James Ball Studio
in Fostoria, OH. The photograph is dated 1900 with the couple looking to be
in their 30's at the time. The second photograph is one of "Grandma
VICKERS" on Aug 24th 1888 at the Gibble Studio in Fostoria, OH. In addition
to her name someone has also written "adoptive Mother of Fanny Del

Would someone be able to email me an obituary from the Fostoria paper if it is available for a Curtis Moon who died in Fostoria in Mar 1983?

The Kaubish Memorial Library in Fostoria has a card file for obituaries. You can contact them to see if they have it. I think the Fostoria Lineage Society maintains it.
Good Luck

Did you try Rutherford B. Hayes library. Their obit file is mostly NW
Ohio at this point, but is expanding as they offer libraries the
chance to add their obit files. This is going to be a very valuable
obit file for Ohio! Margaret Calvin, Gallia co is cooperating.

Ryan,
I checked the Rutherford B Hayes Presidential Center that has a
listing of obituaries from the Fostoria area. They have about 700,000
obituaries from the area. There was no listing for Curtis Moon. I
also checked Hancock Co as well as Wood County. Here are the sites I
checked... Sheila

The Tiffin Seneca Library does not have any Fostoria papers and I have found in the past that the Hayes library while being a fairly large database does miss an obituary or two from time to time. If someone is able to check at the Fostoria Library to see if there was a death notice published I would appreciate it.

The RBH relies on the libraries to submit their obituaries. They had
their own file which started the database, but, for instance, they
have the obits from Fostoria that were submitted to the database. And
yes, I expect some do get missed. Good Luck. M Calvin
