I would also like to know how far back they go.

Hello, Does anyone have access to the Huron County death book of the time period 1900-1910? Both of my ggrandparents , George Bowles and Ida Rogers Bowles died in that time period and thier children were raised by Idas mother, Leona Dickson Rogers. I would be interested to know the cause of death and if they died at the same time or seperately. Any help is much appreciated.

The Firelands Pioneer was first issued by the Firelands Historical
Society in June 1858, and this set, now termed the "Old Series" was
published through 1878. It became an annual, but early on, came out in
parts a couple times each year. This Old Series, 1858-1878, was
published by the Firelands Historical Society in 1975 as a two-volume,
hardbound set, through Unigraphic, Evansville IN. It included an
everyname index. For those who have been around genealogical circles a
few years, Unigraphic was La
The 3rd Ohio Cavalry does have a website if anyone is interested. Not sure
what was for sale on ebay here, but it must have been removed.
There is a book from Blue Acorn Press on the 3rd Ohio if you can find one.
It has a list of names. It is not totally in alphabetical order & I just
glanced thru it, but I did not see a Samuel Dickson. There is an Edward
Dickson age 23 entering service in March 1864 listed as an unassigned
recruit.
Of course he may not have been in the cavalry. I found info for o
David, WOW!
That was almost to easy.!!! Thank you so much!
Yes I would be interested in the line of David Maynard.Did Lorinda and David have children as well? Am I reading correctly that Maud is their only child?
Do you have your tree posted anywhere on the web?Mine is at www.genealogy.com/users/m/e/e/Randi-Meentzen/
I have other Palmers in my line and would like to learn more about Lorindas line so if you have allready researched in that line I would like to see it if you have your tree posted.
Thank you
Do a Google search - civil war soldiers. At the first site ( which is a
government site) you will find a place to enter your soldier's name,
which side he served, and State. I entered Samuel Dickson, union and
Ohio and got 7 hits. Some of them look like the same man but just
re-enlistments

On page 481, Vol. 1, of the History of Huron County, Ohio by A. J. Baughman,
1909, there is a biographical sketch of Joseph D. Frey.
Highlights:
1. He was a successful business man of Norwalk, OH. He came to Norwalk in
1892, working in the ice business for two years, then extending his commercial
interests to include coal, concrete blocks, and building materials.
2. Joseph D. was born Dec. 23, 1866 in Ridgefield Township, Huron County, OH.
His parents were Benedict and Philomena (Krabach) Frey.
3.
Hello List,
Check with the Huron Co., Norwalk Public Library for death Cert. Record. Ask for Deb.
She can do look up for you and for a small fee for the copies and a self address envelope she can get them off micro film for ya.
This will save you a lot of money if you only want copies.

There is a Civil War record site - www.militaryindexes.com/civilwar/
On it I found 3 Israel Staley from Ohio. The one only listed his rank
in. The other two had rank out so were not killed. The one with only
rank in was in the 187 Ohio infantry as a private. There is much to
explore at that site. I found it by doing a google search on Civil war
records. There are lots of other sites that might give you even more
information.

I'm trying to find out where two Ohio regiments were from...the 131st
Regiment, Ohio Infantry (National Guard), and the 187th Regiment Ohio Infantry.
What I'm hoping to figure out is which one my ggg grandfather may have been in!
Thanks in advance:-) Nancy Wood
Thank you for address of the Ohio Historical Society's Online Death
Index. It had the cost that I needed, plus a place to write. There does
seem to be some other valuable "stuff" there.

Hi Listers, Where can I find a list of soldiers who enlisted in the civil war out of Huron County?
Myggggrandfather died in 1864, Samuel Dickson, and I thought perhaps he may have died in the war? Any help appreciated. Randi

Randi,
In checking the Civil War sites I mentioned, there are several Samuel
Dicksons.
Yours, if he indeed was in the Civil War, may have been in Infranty,
60th regiment. this regiment was mustered in in Cleveland and Columbus
in 1864 and were involved immediately in several serious battles; lost
110 men in total.
The site does not tell who was killed though.
I've been able to find out more about a couple of my ancestors who
served in the War.

Can anyone please tell me where the oldest records of Trinity Episcopal

The book only goes from 1867-1908. The only Bowles showing are an infant

Jessie,
The Huron County Chapter OGS sells a book, "Death Index, Huron County,
Ohio 1867-1908." I checked under Lyon and Lyons and unfortunately do not
see an entry for David - 13 Aug 1900. The village of Plymouth is split
between two counties. Perhaps he died on the Richland County side of town?
Good luck.
