Hi Denise,
Sorry, but births aren't recorded in the newspaper, only a small handful of
marriages and deaths. Most frequently following a major battle they list
the area dead by regiment and company. There are numerous articles about
Gallia and Lawrence County boys in the war though. If you all are
interested I can send in some things pertinent to Lawrence

Hello,
Wilsina married a Shaw after Norman Campbell died; then she married the
3rd time after Shaw supposedly died. She married for her 3rd husband my
great-grandfather Michael Malone. When Michael died at Waterloo, Ohio,
Lawrence Co. in 1900, Wilsina filed for a widow's pension. On the form
she said that Norman Campbell died at the Insane Assylum at Athens, Ohio.
That is about all I know about Wilsina, except that she was b. Gallia

Hi!
I am looking for a Frank SULLIVAN. He may be the son of either Dennis, Jerry/Jeremy, Daniel, or Patrick in the 1870 Lawrence Co. If anyone could do a lookup and let me know which, if any, of the above he is listed with, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Teresa :)
For Linda Trent:
For many years I have been searching for my gr grandmother's grave--or
any notice of her death. She was CENIA JACKSON BAILEY, wife of LEMUEL
MILTON BAILEY. a Civil War Veteran. From Lemuel's pension application, I
found that CENIA (SEENA, SINA) BAILEY died in 1884 in Rockwood, Lawrence
Co. Ohio. Could you see if there is a death notice for her, or an
obituary in your old newspaper records? Sometimes this family's name is
written BALEY.
Thanks in advance for your time and considerati
Dear Ernie,
Thank you so much for the information on location of Rockwood Ohio. I
have never been able to find it on any map. This is interesting because
Cenia Jackson's husband, LEMUEL MILTON BAILEY, is buried in Union Cem.
in Chesapeake There doesn't seem to be a stone for her in this
cemetery, but maybe I can write there and see if they have a burial
record for her..Thanks again for this clue.

Hello,
I am doing research on diners/lunch wagons. My research has brought me to
Silver Creek, NY(Ward & Dickinson dining car co) which in turn has brought
me to focus on Ohio. They sent many of their diners to Ohio. Some Diner
builders in Ohio: Galion dining car co. of Galion, OH and the (Earl
Richardson)Rich dining car co. of Dayton, OH, both of these Ohio companies
were probably short lived ventures in the 1920's.
What I am looking for is any information on past diners in Ohio or these

As a matter of fact, there are MANY Lemuel Bailey's, but this hasn't
helped me find his parents. I was told that this BAILEY line always
seemed to name children after uncles,

I've been going through the Gallipolis Journal for the year 1863, and it
just occurred to me that someone might be interested in some of the
information contained in it that comes from the Ironton Register. For
example:
"Loss of Lawrence County Boys in the Recent Fights.-- By a letter from
Corporal C. M. Golden, of Robinson Battery, to his brother, Thomas M.
Golden, of this place, dated May 4th, we learn the following particulars of
our Lawrence County boys:
C.M. Golden was wounded in the left side, but

I just looked at ancestry.com for you. Do you know a Warren H Houck

that you are as he had Lemuel and Cenia entered in the Ancestry World Tree
