the counties and how the county lines changed through the years.

First of all thanks to all who responded to my inquiry regarding the Lorain
County bicentennial barn. I received lots of replies and plan on driving by
for a photograph.
Second of all - I am coming to town to photograph more headstones for my
database. I was wondering if anyone with connections to the DUTE or KRUGMAN
lines might be interested in getting together for about an hour to look at
the photo's reprinted from an old album we found when my father in law died.

I sent a letter to each of the senators also. I got back the out of office
letters too but then later on, a few of them sent messages in response. What
one of them stated was they weren't getting enough revenue to cover making
the copies. My response back was what was going to happen to their revenue
if they raise the cost and eliminate information? How many genealogists are
going to pay the higher price for basic information? Maybe they all need to
be aware of how much they would LOOSE doing thi

Thank you, Carol. This is a shock. Beth was a lovely person, active

There is quite a 'museum' of his place at Milan, OH. If you will do a GOOGLE
search with the words....Thomas Edison+Milan.......you will get a whole lot
of links that will tell you all about him.

One thing I have never seen on this site is information on Thomas Edison.
Maybe he was born west of Lorain County but he was in the area. I do know
that one of the sons of Jacob Shupe, William Shupe is listed as a friend of
Thomas Edison. Does anyone know more about the life of the early years of
Thomas Edison?
I wanted to let everyone know that I have made contact with the Fostoria
fire department and will wait for a response from them.
Thanks to EVERYONE who responded to my query - this is a very helpful
bunch of people and I appreciate everyone one of your replies!

The Great Lakes Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists is
sponsoring an Advanced Genealogy Discussion Group. The next meeting is on

The purpose of the group is to discuss advanced genealogical methodology as

The group meets the second Saturday of the month, starting at 10:00 am, at
the Medina County District Library annex meeting room. The library is

The date of death I found was 26 DEC 1924. The on line newspapers don't
cover that time period. Can someone who is GOING to the Library anyway take
a second and see if Robert had an obit? Maybe an article on the cause of his
death? He was only 24 at the time of his death (maybe 25 at most). He was a
truck driver.
Any takers? I will swap for a lookup in the

Hi List, This is just a wild bit of information someone might use. In My great Aunt's
New Testament I found a funeral card for Joanna Kolb She died Dec 20 th 1917 at age 74.
She is interned at G&F.R.C cemetery at Pine Hill,N.Y. Lot No. 2 Section C.C.
Dec 24th 1917. I know that there are Kolbs in Lorain County . She was the wife of the late Frank Kolb. Ken G.
Hi List members,
I have learned that a number of my e-mail notes to individuals are not arriving at their destinations. Also Sometimes I've had to send notes to the Rootsweb lists more than once, because the first notes have not appeared on those lists. I feel especially bad about this lost mail, because a number of you have graciously taken the time to send me information and I've learned that at least a couple had not received my thank you notes. It's upsetting because you deserve acknowledgment of my
