Hello List...I'm new, and just beginning the search for my
heritage. My Father's name was SHELBY HARRIS.dob,
10/21/16...he resided on Georgia Avenue, Toledo, and
graduated from Devilbiss High School. In 1945, while
stationed in England he met and married, Sarah (SALLY)
Jones. They had 2 children, Shirley and Bruce, 1946 and
1949, respectively. He had a brother named Wyatt Harris,
who died at a young age, as did his parents.....he was an
orphan by the age of 10, and was raised by his aunt and

I am trying to find out any information on a W.F. MEIER. I have very little
to go on but believe that he is an ancestor connected to my great
grandmother Mary MEIER FREE who was born in Switzerland and immigrated to
Canada with her husband EMIL and their three children MANUEL, CHARLES and
AMELIA. I just came into possession of a copy of a letter that W.F. MEIER
sent his cousin Charles FREE on the occasion of Charle's 50th Wedding
Anniversary. The letter was on Park Hotel stationery, dated July 15, 1950

My ancestor seems to have passed away in Lucas Co. in the mid-1860 without a
will. I am hoping their might be an inventory to his estate. I have looked
around in the Probate Court in the room where the marriages and wills are
held, but haven't seen estates. Does anyone know where an index to estates
can be found?
Much thanks for assitance,

Please send this on to your county mail lists.

I'll send this out to you in tomorrow's mail. I just ran across it
today as I was doing my badly needed filing. I've had it for a while,
but was waiting to get the information on Carl that you asked for.
However, I won't be going back down to the mail library as it's being
added to and then remodeled, and the film with the information on Carl
is in another department (not the genealogy dept.). The the Genealogy
and History Departments are temporarily in a separate neighborhood
building so we can continue

obits in The Toledo Blade:
