I am searching for information about the Ivan Powell JOHNSON and Grace Vivian WALTER families. Ivan's family came from Hardin County, OH and Grace's from Gallia County, OH. Also within this search is Grace's brother, James Berry WALTER, who married Evelyn LAU. Evelyn's father Richard LAU, owned the Marion Brass and Bronze Co.
Ivan and Grace lived in a large house on Rt #23 just south of Marion. James and Evelyn lived in the brick house at the corner of Barks Rd. and Rt #23 [it is now a grocery store].

He was my Great Grandfather. If any of this sounds similar please email me
thanks

599 Windsor was built in 1922.
What you want to do is a title search. This is done at the Recorder's Office. They will not accept phone calls. It will give you all the names of past owner's. Take these names and cross check them with obituaries, newpaper articles, directories, etc.
I have not been on this site for a while. maybe I have talked to you before. if not, are you looking for ancestry or decendents on benjamin w. cramer born sept 29, 1794?
please e-mail me at dprawl@nebi.com
I have read many posts and wanted to help with the information (since I live in Marion Co.), but the posts lack vital information.
To assist those doing volunteer look-ups, may I suggest giving a relative date. Exact dates are wonderful, but even a dating such as "late 1800's" or "around 1850's" would be a tremendous help. Stating it is your great grandfather is not much of a help, as you could be 15 years old or 85 years old.
Also, placing all SURNAMES in caps helps to convey the information more readi

Hi---I am VERY new at using message boards, but I was wandering around and saw your note re: Christian Haberman and Gertrude Seas. Christian and Gertrude had (from the research that I have) 9 children, one of whom was John Alfred Haberman, who is my great-grandfather. Does this information go with something you might have? If so, I would be happy to work together.

Laura it sounds like Marion County, Ohio. The spelling could be whatever makes sense. There were two Ruth families at least in Marion County that came from differnet parts of Germany.
A few came from Huttengesass, Hessen-Nassau

Could someone do a census lookup for me on the Hugh Scott family living in Scott township. I believe a Jackson Scott may be living with him. On the FTM index, he is listed as being on page 96. If possible, I would also like a lookup on Van Buren Scott on page 97 as well as William Scott on page 80.

Thanks,
Your site has been quite a help. And we do live in Marion Ohio!
I am at a loss for some relatives that are quite close in the line. My Ruth's
are of CCP Ruth line, he was my Great-Great grandfather, Christian A. and
then Don D Ruth.
My Grandma Ruth gave me a huge lot of photo's etc that were Don D.'s Brother
Walter W.
Anyhow, this family of Ruth's are shrinking. One male left from the line of
Christian A. Unfortunately my dad had 2 girls...LOL
I cannot find anything yet on Olive Eva Ruth or t
I am trying to find anyone who might connect to the Thomas PRYOR/PRIOR family that lived in the Prospect Twp., Marion Co., OH area. He is listed in the 1880 Census. I believe he may be a brother to my gr-gr grandfather. Also, two of my gr-gr grandfather's children attended school in 1889 at the Centerville School in Marion Co. Thomas' wife's name was Eliza. Before 1880, Thomas was living in Muskingum Co., OH, where I find my gr-gr grandparents living in 1880. There name are James Eugene PRYOR and Lucy
