Hello
Can anyone help with David Counterman. There seems to be more than one
David Counterman. I have no dates to confirm which one I am seeking. He
married Emily (Wical) Stewart in 1884, Mercer Co. They divorced in 1916, so
presume this David was still living. Emily was b. 1842, so would guess
David was around the same age. According to Civil War documents I received
today, they had not lived together for nine years. Emily's first husband

Hello,
The McKirnan family is written of in a bio from page 378,
"History of Van Wert & Mercer Counties" pub. 1882 by Sutton.
If you do not have this, send me your snail Mail address. I will copy it for
you.
Another mention is on page 305, stating that in 1874 H. J. McKirnan
was Sheriff.
There are numerous listings (about 20) for McKirnan burials in the
VOL. II, Mercer Co. Cem. Inscriptions Jefferson Township Cemeteries.

Yes Emily must have taken back her married name Stewart, maybe for pension
reasons.
According to her obit (1929) she was Emily Wical Stewart, also her death
cert states Emily Wical Stewart. Going over some notes, Icy must not have
known who her father was, as she first gave Wm Counterman & Emily
Counterman, then a note said Chivington & Stewart, so my guess there are a
couple of Illig. children here, but that is water under the bridge. I was
interested in David, as to who his parents were

The first three numbers generally tell where you were born,( or if you're a
recent immigrant), where you lived when you got your working papers.
Ohio have the numbers 268-through- 302.

Could somebody please tell the first three digits of a social security
number for a person living in Mercer County?
Thanks,

Hello to all...I am researching the MCKIRNAN family of Mercer Co. Local
history books have Henry J MCKIRNAN moving to Mercer Co with his family in
1851. I have found Henry with his 3 sisters and parents, John and Mary, in
the 1860 census. My question is, does anyone have info about where John and
Mary originally came from. One history book has John settling in Lucas Co,
possibly coming from County Caven in Ireland. John died in 1863 and I would
like to know where he and Mary are buried.
Thanks to
Terry,
Phebe Ann Slater married James F. Smith, 16 Aug 1855 Mercer
County Records, Books C&D.
Will check thru other stacks for more.

Still haven't found the family of the 3 Smith girls,
Matilda/Mary and Eliza and Lydia (sisters) who married the 3
Kendall brothers, Jed, Stephen and Abram.
Hi list,
Copied this off another list a couple of years ago, thought it may help.

In 1870 my 3g grandparents Alfred and Nancy Wollam (Woolam, Wollem)
have next door to them Jesse Wollem 23 and Mary 20, who have a Henry
Tavener (12 ) living with them. There are many Wollam researchers out
there and I have never heard of Alfred having a brother Jesse, but
he's too old to be a grandson. Does anyone know anything about this
Jesse or the Henry Tavener living there?

There is supposed to be some explanation of how SS #s are assigned and what
they mean. If you can;t find that URL, let me know as the email I have
quoted the information (I just don't want to post it here for copyright
considerations).

Conrad Meyer, B:12/25/1863, married 2-13-1901 to Anna Marie Huelsman,
B:2-15-1882. John's father was Jake Meyer (or Myers) B:1837? married to

How do I go about getting copies of census, etc.?
