Hello, can anyone tell me the current price of vital statistics in OH? If
there is a difference, in particular mar. record in Mercer Co, but was
interested in knowing also cost of birth/death records also. Some states
you can get records directly from County seat, other states must write to
state repository, so is there a difference in OH? Thank you. Larry Eades

Was this practice of mass graves for cholera victims common practice in
Ohio?
I have heard of it before but thought it might be a rare event.
My great great grandfather, George RANFT, died in August of 1849 in
Columbus, Ohio. He was buried in a mass grave at St. Patrick Cemetery in
Columbus. Eventually it was decided that a school would be built in that
location so all those buried in the mass grave were moved to Mt. Calvary
Cemetery. At least in the case of the Columbus mass grave site, there was

HI,
I had an e-mail from someone with the surname Benoir in it. I lost it
before I had a chance to answer it. I would really appreciate a copy of
the message if someone recognizes it. I am on several different lists and
don't recall which list it was on. A friend used my 'puter and accidently
deleted my folder with the saved unanswered mail.
Thanks in advance

Need info about Herman Heinz (or John) GRUNKEMEYER (GRUNKAMEIER,
GRINKAMEYER, etc.) 1804-1849 who was married to Maria Anna VONDERHAAR
1809-1854 or 55. There are two identical tombstones next to each other
in St. John Catholic Cem. in Maria Stein with inscriptions: "Heinrich
Vonderhaar 1804-1849" and "Herman Grunkameier 1804-1849." Info I have
received says they were buried in the mass grave during the cholera
epidemic in 1849 and the markers were put up much later. Are these 2
people related to each oth
