looking for information on Jacob Bauer and Magdalene Horning Bauer, They lived in Granville Twp, Mercer Co., Ohio. They had a daughter who married Joseph Wirtz, sons Jacob, Philip who married Anna Schultz, and had Pearl and Philip, and August who married Blanche Fable, they had a daughter who married a Kitchen, they also had a grandson Gary Bauer. Does anyone know anything about these people

My daughter has been requested to help with a project at school regarding veterans in student's families. While going through old photos from my Grandmother Helen BOMHOLT Ronnebaum I found several photos of men from WWI. One of the individual postcard photos is of an Emil ? addressed to Miss Helen. Would anybody have any idea of Emil's last name? On a list of Mercer Co. men in WWI I found an Emil N. Small and an Emil A. 7. [MERCER] guardparent question [1]
Well, today I mentioned it to my Dad and he says that in German they were called guardparents not godparents. He is several years older than his sister and only spoke German until a few weeks before he was supposed to go to school. Aunt just sent me a photo to copy of my g-grandfather, grandfather and his sisters about 1914 in front of a touring car. The little girls are all wearing old bonnets (not hats) on their heads. Has anyone ever heard the term "guardparent". I don't mean godparent. I was at the annual Labor Day party today. I had passed out copies of family trees and returned photos to everyone when my aunt said "you know this really wasn't your grandmother's name." (just what I wanted to hear of course after all of that work) Then she went on to say that she had seen a book years ago at my grandmother's house which Grandma had borrowed from a sibling. This is from Sharon and has nothing to do with Miss Helen. But, Norman Wood and William Wood sons of Sarah Elizabeth Wharton and Benjamin Wood were in WWII ( Sarah dau. of Barb Ellen Hipple and William Wharton.) If that is of any help to her.???
