Has anyone out there read the Rinard Mills Cemetery and could you tell me
where it is at? Think I have family there but I'm not sure. I'm looking for
Henry and Catherine Scott. Also anyone searching this family.

>T he "previous message" referred to below was a comment on copyright
laws, and said that it is legal to give another person a lookup of one or 2
names, from a copyrighted book that you own, but what is called a "blanket
lookup", (all information on a certain name, or large passages from a
specific book) is an infringement of this law. With genealogy now online,
this is new ground and we all need to be responsible, and not ruin the
really good thing we have going for us. Several lists I belong to now
This is a personal pet peeve of mine and I'm prepared for the flames
that'll come back on this one. But consider for a moment one bit of
really basic logic in this fiasco:
The same organizations (FTM, et al....) that want these copyright
laws enforced, are the same organizations that have been begging for
your hard work and research, often referring to as " your
contribution." They take your "contribution" and copyright it. Then
they manufacture the CDs, publish the books and sell it.

Thanks! for catching the date of my grandmother's death.
Ida Jones Wittekind
b. 3/20/1906 d. 12/12/1998.
Daughter of Harvey Jones b. 11/03/1867 d. 1/22/1927

Hattie's mother was Elizabeth Piatt Cline. Do you know if Elizabeth had a
sister named Ida? I remember my grandmother telling me she was named after
her grandmother's sister but I am not sure if it was on the Jones line or
Cline line.
Thanks!

Could you repost it?

Hi,
Still looking for our BOTTS, and finding roadblocks all the way. Came across
a marriage record in "Monroe Co. Genealogical Records, Vol. 9" in our local
library. It said "Married on the 30th of March, 1862 by Rev. Frederick
Wucherer, Mr. Jacob BOTT and Miss Salome JUNG all of this county." Have
checked David Distler's site and although there are several JUNGS, there was
no Salome listed. I have a feeling this may be our gr gr grandfather Jacob
BOTT, born 1839, as his son Jacob was born in 1865, and 1870

Hello to all,
Jim's suggestion for a reunion place is a good one; another good place for a
reunion is just across the Ohio River into W. Va and that would be at Olgeby
Park. I graduated from Bellaire High School, Belmont Co and our Senior
Class Picnic, and many other events were held at Olgeby Park.
Sincerely, J.L.

Hi Ron,
I agree with you. I will continue to do group lookups until the list
owners ask me to stop.
Also, I am totally unable to go through all of the materials I have
and retype all the information for each person individually. I usually have
80+ messages sitting in my email box waiting for replies and I have the
original list down to 38 messages to answer, from the 115 I started with.
If I get repeats, I just ask someone to forward the information to the new
person making the request.

Whether we agree or not is not really the question. I, too, dislike the
FTM, etc, and will not submit my information to them. But, what about the
little guy in Anywhere, Ohio, that puts together, by the sweat of his brow ,
a book on "whatever".....and we, give out pages and pages of his hard earned
information. My point is, as long as we abide by the letter of the law,
we can give each other help without giving "the big boys" fuel" for the
copyright furnace. And really, I get sort of tired of people
