While watching a program on television last night, divorce was mentioned of some polygamist sects of the
Mormon religion. This is no slam on the church or its followers, but it brought up a question in reference to
my family line in Morrow Co. My g/g/grandfather was
Felty Wheeler of Westfield Twp.Morrow Co. OH. He died
in 1863 and is buried in Windsor Corner Cemetery. His
stone is facing east while everyone else is facing west
and there is a reason for that.
He was married three times and had twenty-two ch
Would also like to find a site such as what Cindy was asking, about the Civil
War from Morrow Co. I already have pension papers I sent away for Jannett

in.....Thanks

Seeking information about the family of Thomas Barber NASE who lived in North Bloomfield Township, Morrow County. Thomas B. NASE was born about 1794 probably in Sussex County, New Jersey. He came to Ohio, then Richland County in the mid 1830s. After the gain from Richland County to Morrow County in 1848, he is found on the 1850 census for Morrow County.
Clarinda NASE, born December 09, 1817 in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, his oldest daughter married John Allen MCCLUER, the line which I descend. Anot
I need help putting together one of the Miller families of Morrow Co. At
Al Pott's site (thanks so much, Al) he has the Morrow County History. For
Chester township it has quite a bit about an early settler of what was
then Knox County named David Miller. Among these David Miller's children
were Jane(m. Levi Greenfield); Isabel (m. John Evans); Elizabeth (m.
William McCracken); There is more information about these families in the
book. It also mentions there are siblings named Andrew, James, Sarah, and
Does anyone know if there are records available anywhere for the old
Morrow County Infirmary? Does anyone know where it used to be? The name
sounds ominous. I think I might have found one of my husband's
relatives there--I would like to find out if she had relatives living
nearby.

Hi,
Can anybody tell me the maiden name of Frederick Shangle's wife Sarah?
After Frederick's death (probably in the 1850s) she married Joel
Burdine. She had a daughter Emeline I believe. She lived in Canaan
Township.
Thanks,
Jane Peppler

Hello, fellow listers.
We are trying to trace my husband's Atherton lines. We know that
Victoria Atherton, who was born in 1872 in Hilliard Station in Franklin
County, married an England and settled in Mt. Gilead. She was still
living there in the early 1950s, my husband remembers.
Thank you

Buffy, Morrow County Infirmary records from 1871 to 1986 are available
on microfilm through your nearest LDS Family History Center. The film
may be ordered for a nominal fee. The film number is 1928460. The
Infirmary records are the third item on the roll. You can find the
locality of the nearest Family History Center in Cyndi's List or through
the LDS church's web site. I got the film number by going to the Family
History Library's Family Search web site and using the locality section

Esther,
Concerning divorce records for Morrow county - they were kept
by the Clerk of Courts.
If you need records prior to 1848: Since Morrow county was formed from 4
other counties in 1848 - you will need to also check which ever county your
township was in before the reorganization.

How about divorce records? Where could I possibly find them? Did they have
them in 1850?
Hello again,
Myrna went directly to the LDS records to find the Morrow County Infirmary
records on microfilm. Also, in case you haven't already found it, the
Morrow County website contains a chart showing *all* (if there is such a
thing!) the Morrow County records which have been microfilmed by LDS -
including the film number and item number. That information was compiled by
Jane Peppler last year. Here's the link....

I've just had my first look at the 1870 Morrow County Census and found my 2g
grandparents and my ggf.
These people are:
BROWN, Ferdinand, 37, M, W, Shoemaker born in Prussia
Martha, 29, F, W, Keeping House born in Ohio
Amick, 6, M, W, born in Ohio
Charles, 3, M, W born in Ohio
William, 1, M, W, born Ohio
I know from our Family Bible that "Amick" is actually Emil. Charles is my

They were the 97th dwelling and the 99th family to be visited (in the
Village of Mt. Gilead).

I have these databases that were sent to me. I used one of them and it
was really good, and I was able to pull up everyone in Morrow County.
Just can't remember which one, and don't have time to check right now,
but you might want to know them all anyway.

Cemetery records are maintained by the Township Trustees. For Gilead

I will add the names and addresses of all the township clerks to the website

information will be helpful to researchers. (If I could ever get going on
my OWN research, I'm sure my list of "things to includ
