Patty I know this is not Muskingum County, but does anyone have any information on Marysville Cemetaries? Or a funeral home by the name of O'shaughnessey's? Thanks! Kathy

9. NYE/NIGH 1800 PA MD OH [0.980512]
The first of the Nye family to arrive in Ohio was probably Ebenezer and Ichabod Nye who purchased land from Putman, Rufus and Co. (The Ohio Land Company) near Marietta in 1788. In 1797, Lewis Nye made similar purchases.(1) In 1804-05 Lewis Nye moved up the Muskingum River to Jonathan Creek, an important tributary of the Muskingum. He built a hewed-log house (where Newtonville now is). He was probably the first of the Brethren (?) to buy land on Jonathan Creek.(2) George NIGH lived in Washington County,
