In the Combined Atlas of Ottawa County, Ohio 1874 & 1900 there are maps of a John Brown Jr, showing property near the Downtown area of Put In Bay. In the Subscribers' Reference for Ottawa County, Ohio is say he came to the County in 1862, and he was born in Ohio, and grew Grapes. There are two maps in the 1874 are, one is a close up of that area in Put In Bay. In 1900 there is just a map showing the same lot he owned in 1874. Marlene Seaton

Jacob BROWN (1807-1886) and his wife Harriet HYDE (1808-1852) and children. The HYDEs were original settlers on Put-In-Bay (1818), and later lived on Catawba Island, and then Portage Township.
