I am looking for anyone who can help me with
information that is located in Pickaway and Fayette
Counties in Ohio, possiably in Washington Court House.
I need any information from Census, land deeds or will
and probate records.
I need information on land owned by Jacob Durham in
Pickaway County, Monroe township in 1844. It can be
seen on the lower portion of the 1844 Wheeler map of
Pickaway county under J. Durham.
Jacob Durham died Oct 11, 1847 at the age of 45 and is
buried in the Hinton-Hays Cemetary. T

Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Pickaway on August 19 and would like to know where the
above mentioned schools are/were located as I would like to drive by the
properties.
The Oak Grove School is mentioned in an article from "Pickaway Places" on
Tilghman WARREN. There is a photo in the article of Tilghman Warren's homestead
and it states the school house in the background is the Oak Grove School.
Tilghman Warren died 1853 and his wife, Rhoda, died 1863. This article says
the cabin was passed on down th
Anyone familiar with Shilo cemetery in Monroe Township? Is there a cemetery
sexton that I could contact? I was told by a township official that all the
records for this cemetery burned back in 1992. Also, I was told that several
tombstones have disappeared over time and there really is no way on knowing
who is buried there anymore. Let me know if you can help.
Lee Martin
That's interesting! Are you then saying Margaret and Ervin were
divorced and he remarried? I believe (have to re-read it) the obit
mentions him as her deceased husband. We don't by any chance have
more than one Ervin? Sounds like a good mystery to solve. I've just
managed - with help - to solve one of my Crist mysteries! M Calvin

Marg, I'm not sure about Oak Grove but "possibly" Salt Creek Twp. Tilghman
was living there per censuses, etc. He and wife are buried in Salem United
Methodist Church in Meade which is in Pickaway Twp.
Per "History of Kingston" Tilghman (Tillman) Warren in Salt Creek Twp. in
1818.
Per 1827 Pickaway Inhabitants, Tilghman in Pickaway Twp.
1844 Wheeler Map of Salt Creek shows Tilghman in Section 30.
1871 Titus Atlas show his sons (Thomas and Peter) in Salt Creek - Section 30.
Per 1917 Warranty Deed - T

He purchased a plot in Reber Hill when his second wife died. I guess when
he died he was buried beside her; quite possibly because Margaret already

buried. He has a very extensive cemetery list, but Margaret was not on it.
Is she beside Ivan (David) and how is her name listed in the ceme

Does anyone have a book on the Reber Hill Cemetery?
It is my understanding that Ervin S. Clark purchased Lot 10 Section 4 on 26 February 1887. Upon his death 23 Feb 1910, he was buried there.
I ma trying to see if one of his 3 wives are buried there, also. Her name is either listed as Maggie or Margaret. She died 20 Oct 1924. They are listed together on the 1910 census; and She is listed as a widow on the 1920 census.

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations.
(Deuteronomy 32:7)
In the Thomas Rennick Cemetery, located in Jackson Twp., according to the
Paul Mayberry book, , there are no Purcells buried there.
I looked in the four other cemetery books I have and did not find the names
of Robert, Amanda, or Sarah.
If you can locate a burial permit, you may be able to establish whether
they are there in an unmarked grave or perhaps buried elsewhere.
In the probate and will packet I found at the Genealogical Library in
Circleville for my grandmother, a burial permit was also on file. On
The Oak Grove School was located on the corner of Hayesville Rd. and
Pickaway-Saltcreek Rd. just across from the Warren residence. When the
school was torn down around 1990, my mother picked up some of the bricks and
had them incorporated into her house in Hallsville - they were sandblasting
and tuck-pointing her bricks and needed a few to replace damaged ones.
