Hi everyone!
I'd like to find out if anyone would know where I can get a map online for OH
in 1840 showing the towns and county boundaries. I'm interested in the Allen,
Putnam, Van Wert Co. areas.
Also, if anyone is familiar with the census records for 1840 for these
counties I could really use some help. I currently have the films for Allen
and Putnam Co's, and I'm looking for the town of Glandorf, which I thought
was in Putnam Co., but I didn't see it, so far, under Putnam Co.
Any help would be ve
I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my request for help with the 1840
census records and map of the Glandorf area. You have all been of great help,
and I wanted to let all of you and the rest of the listers know how nice you
all were, and how much I appreiciate your kind assistance!!

Yes, Glandorf is in Putnam County - a mere couple of miles from Ottawa.

I have not been able to locate this family from Liberty Twp. since the 1880
census:
Hannah Jane Waltner married Thomas HUGHES 19-May-1874 in Putnam County. He
died in 1909 and Hannah in 1903. One known daughter Mary A. Hughes born
20-Sep-1875. I obtained their death dates from a researcher but do not know
where they lived after 1880. Do any of these names ring a bell?
Thanks, Carole in CO

I made a mistake when I entered the information for No. 77 in subject
baptisms. One of the entries was for Philip Jacob Mathei. This is
WRONG. The correct entry is:
Kerner, Philip Jacob, parents John Matthew Kerner and Mary Elisabeth
Heinrich, baptism year 1849. I am unable to decipher what "die vero 8va
gbris" (that's what it looks like to me). Would anyone know what this
means?

I'm looking for a couple who might have lived in Fort Jennings. Would
there be anyone with cemetery books who can look up this couple to see
where they were buried around there. Catholic cemetery. Names are
Louise and Henry Brinkman. Louise was an Eberle. I only know Louise
died in 1980. They had a son Alfred L. Brinkman.

Would anyone know what the most common means of transportation would
have been from the east coast to northwestern Ohio (for instance, Putnam

Hi,
I posted some marriages and deaths the other day but forgot to add
that I do not have the films. I had them on loan through my local LDS
library. Those were records I transcribed because they were of interest
to my genealogy research. I'm sorry for any confusion. I'm sure if you
go to your local LDS Family History Library they can help you in
ordering the film with the actual record from Salt Lake if it's not in
their library.

I am searching for information on Valentine Houtzer /
Adaline (Bohrer?) who lived from about 1880 in Ottowa.
By 1900 they have moved to Pleasant. Is that still
