I just found an interesting site. KWTV Channel 9 has a feature that
highlights strange town names in Oklahoma. It has the history and origin of
several towns in Oklahoma. You can see them at:

Hello My Friends,
Daniel most likely a white man married Lucy FIELDS of the Cherokee Nation. My
guess is they were married between 1760-1770 in Tennessee in the Old Cherokee
Nation. They both died in Georgia after 1800.
Many of these families moved to Oklahoma and the surrounding states. Perhaps
you have one of these surnames. Some of the names I only have one or two
individuals, other surnames I have quite a few.
I'd be delighted to hear from you. Maybe we can make a connection.

Hello,
I am searching for information on Martha STEPP/STEPPE. Supposedly
Tallaqua(probably mis-spelled) This is my GGrandmother. She has fallen
through the proverbal cracks. Have no idea when she was born, only that
she was born in Georgia. She married Daniel Gossage/Gossadge. If
anyone has seen either one of these people I would love to hear from
you.
Thanks in advance,

For those interested in records from McCurtain County, I am in the process
of creating a McCurtain County Genealogical Society webpage, with indexes to
all of their resources. This will include funeral home records, cemetery
records, probate records, marriage records, etc. etc. The only thing that I
have on line right now is Vol I of the funeral home records, but soon more.
It is at http://www.oio.net/~mcgs/

Hi Everyone--
I was cleaning out some files the other day and came across some obituaries
that I had clipped from the Oregonian newspaper in Portland. They mean
nothing to me (yet) but thought I might need them in the future.
I am not going to type the complete obituary but if anyone needs more info,
please email me privately and I will send you more details.
I hope this will help someone!

I am looking for any information that anyone might have on the HALL family.
I am looking for the ancestors of James Noyle Hall. parents are unknown.
He had the following siblings: Tom, Henry, Clay, Maude, and Clara. All are
said to have children in the OK area.
My grandmother, Clara Faye Hall, and her twin sister were born somewhere in
OK. Her youngest sister was born in Marlow, Stephens county, and so I think
that this is the general area. My grandma was born on 26 Feb, 1911.

a WILLIAM JOSEPH JAMES in the 1910 and 1920 Soundex?
First name - William

He signed his name W. J. James so he might be listed that way. He also may be

Hi everyone - I just discovered this new information on the Oklahoma
Historical Society page - this answers one of the most asked questions I
receive - what newspapers for xxxx county were printed and when.
The only downside is you need Abode Acrobat Reader to view and print the
information, but they kindly provided a link to get the free reader. :)

Hello Genealogy Friends,
I'd like to find descendants of David WATIE b. ca 1773 in Old Cherokee Nation,
Tennessee and his wife Susannah REESE b. ca 1782 Old Cherokee Nation,
Tennessee.
Most of these family members moved to Indian Territory later known as Oklahoma
and surrounding areas. There were intermarriages with whites.
Here are a list of the surnames that I have of the descendants of David and
Susannah:

Hi All,
Sorry to be so long in adding to this. I haven't had much free time on
my hands lately. I have added 3 pages of the census to the web site. All
those who have ask for me to look for certain people for them, I must
apologize again. I just don't have the time right now. I have pages 1-61
as listed on the micro film. I haven't had the time to really look at
them either. I do not know where the places are located as far as Range
and Township but I believe that Trudy has put a platte map on the
Marshal
There have been many requests for me to post the links that you have sent me
for the genealogy book URLs. If you would rather I didn't please let me
know. Otherwise in a few days I will combine them and post them to the
list. I would also like to thank all those who responded to my request for
genealogy book sites. It was more than what I had before I lost them.
Debbie :-)
