A polite word: Please retype your surnames, putting in all caps. It just makes it easier them to read. I am also researching about 5 KY lines, so I check them out. Sorry, I don't recognize any of them. Carole Beth Arnette San Antonio, TX ----- Original Message ----- From: Lois L Coffelt To: Sent: Friday, October 01, 1999 11:06 AM Subject: [OKGEN ] OOPPS!!! Wendy: You have gotten us "Jacque's" confused. I'm the one in TX that usually submits obits from the Cooke County, TX. area. I try to remember when I write to the list that I put "Jacque in TX" at the close so to help eliminate some confusion. 11. Re: [OKGEN ] Indian Territory Census [1]
So Marti, If I want to transcribe the Choctaw Census, I would need to buy the CD's from Heritage Quest and start typing? What program is everyone using and when they are done, where will they be posted? Do we have a time-frame in which they HAVE to be done? I had thought about transcribing a little at a time everytime I went to the FHC, but that would be very time consuming, to say the least. I think I would be interested in doing the Choctaw CDs if no one else has shown an interest. Jacque in Idaho --

21. [OKGEN ] Tippling House - Thank you! [1]
Thank you for the responses for the definition of a Tippling House. I thought perhaps that is was a saloon of sort. Guess my 7 generation back grandfather was fined 2000 pounds of tobacco, he was also a wealthy tobacco farmer, for "operating a tippling house without a license" in 1745. Records also show that he served as the constable during 1743-45. Is this too funny! Now I want to see if I can find out who turned him in and who did they turn him in to? Thanks again for the help, Paula in Oregon

25. Re: [OKGEN ] Linked Genealogies [1]
They have software programs designed to do that for an entire FTM file. I have one installed on my computer, don't even remember where I got it, but I think it was for free. I had some difficulty in mastering it, but once I got it down pat all I have to do is open the privatitzation software, designate a particular FTM file to run through it and it makes a new file where all living people's dates are marked Private.
