I live in Redland, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma. It was originally named ODell and had a postoffice from statehood until 1925. It is still called Odell on some maps. It is part of the Haworth school district in the SE corner of Oklahoma. It's school district covers 294 sq. miles. I have been a teacher in the district for the past 27+ years. However, 'everyone' in McCurtain County calls it Redland. No...There is no town in McCurtain Co. called Thomasville. There may be a small community (we all have o

18. [OKMCCURT] Buhpo Anderson [1]
Am trying to locate information on a 'Bupo' (this is pronounced Buhpo) Anderson and his son Robert. Bupo was living in Redland, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma (this community used to be called 'Odell' after Robert Hughes daughter) during the earlier part of this century. I believe his family moved here from Arkansas, possibly the Amity, Clark Co. area but am not sure about that. He is a cousin of my grandmother, Myrtle Mattie Martin (married later to Marvin Junior Finney) and I would like to connect to his family.
