In as far as the 1920 and 1930 census are concerned, the Pickens area would have appeared under the "Mountain" census district for McCurtain County. It is also possible that it"might" have been listed under the "Sulphur" district ... I don't have my maps near me at present and memory fails me as to the district lines.

It appears that my g-gf Sharp was about the only one of his family that left MS. He first when to Woodruff Co AR, where he found a wife. He moved to McCurtain County about 1900, then to Grady County in the 1930s. Since moving to MS 5 years ago, I have found 20 or so cousins living in MS
