Pat, My James' family was mostly in the Maries, Gasconade, and Pulaski Counties of Missouri but that's only a couple of counties north of Howell County. In 1870 they were in Scott County, Arkansas. His parents were James Newberry Jr. and wife was Martha (Unknown surname.) I believe they moved from Scott County into Indian Territory but have nothing definite. He married Mary Ann Scott, Hayes, Pearce in 1901 in Muskogee and they lived in Bower, in Pittsburgh County, until 1905 when Mary Ann died. He mar
15. Re: [OKMCINTO] ]Newberry [0.986389]
There was a Cyrus/Silas Newberry listed as an early (before 1850)settler of Howell county Missouri near the Ark. border. I found this in the book A History of Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas by William Monks. Cyrus/Silas Newberry b. abt 1805 m. Sina/Lina Broardwaters. The Broadwaters were also early settlers of that county. I know that many of these Ark. Mo. settlers children migrated into Indian Territory. I have more on the Newberry's I believe, if so I'll let you know. Pat ----- Original Me

Pat, If your ancestor is registered with a roll # on Dawes you should send after for their enrollment jacket at the national archives in Texas. It was the best thing I ever did regarding my creeks. What wonderful papers I received, statements, enrollment application, allotment application, birth affidavit, etc. These were copies of their original paper work. It was by far the best $50.00 i have ever spent. Kathy ----- Original Message ----- From: "pmunroe" To:

Good Morning Everyone, Question: Do any of you have family by the name of Cross. I have learned recently that my grandmother, Ruby Mae Vera Clubb, was "forced" into an early marriage prior to her marriage to my grandfather. Nothing is known about this marriage other than the name, supposedly, was Cross. This marriage would have been short lived. I found my grandmother on the 1930 census living in Arkansas with her older sister. She is listed as age at first marriage "13" wow..this was new
