Thanks very much for this, Marguerite. This is a related family, and I'm
still puzzling over the exact relationship.

Could some kind soul with access to the 1851 Census do a lookup for me?
Thomas GILLASPIE/GILLESPIE and his wife Hannah GARDNER *may* have been
in Canada around that time. They appear in Jefferson Co, NY before and
after, but may briefly have gone across the river:
1840 Le Ray, Jefferson Co, NY census p.5: Thomas Gillaspie (only one): 2
males under 5, male 40-50, 3 females 5-9, female 40-50.
1855 Clayton, Jefferson, NY: Daughter Margaret m. William Henry Relyea
1860 Clayton, Jefferson, NY census p.44
Bless you, Sandy. I'm so grateful to you. It just might solve an odd little
piece of the Balfe puzzle.

I just heard about this site and thought that others would like to visit it.
They are planning to photograph every Canadian war grave and place it on the
site.

Would anybody on the list be able to tell me where I could find an address, snail or email, for the Halladay Burial Grounds in Elgin.
I have some folks buried there and have the year that they died. I want to try to find a complete date of death so that I can pursue finding obituaries.

Wilma, the OGS Cemetery Locator at http://ogs.andornot.com/CemLocat.htm
gives the location but no mailing address. I have visited the cemetery in
the past and did not notice an office there. You might try the Leeds &
Grenville Branch of OGS at http://www.leedsandgrenvillegenealogy.com/
There's also a website for the town of Elgin at
http://www.king.igs.net/~elgin/page3.html. They don't say much but you could
e-mail them.

I'm sure you will enjoy them both, Ann. Even if your ancestors aren't
mentioned, they paint a great picture of early days.

Hi, Leslie.
Sorry to add another mystery to your searches but thought you might find
this interesting. It was in the Feb. 12, 1937 (page 4) edition of the Perth
Courier.
Brockville Man Missing
No new development has been reported in the mysterious disappearance of
William Henry Storey esteemed resident of Brockville for many years. Various
reports ? the missing man had been seen at different points in the district
have proved unfounded and his disappearance is still as mysterious as ?

When Ann died, (bef 1831) Elizur/Eleazer married Elinor ??, born about 1813 in England.
Elizur and his family were all Protestant, they are buried at the Westport Baptist burial grounds.
Elizur/Eleazer is spelled Eleaser in the 1881 North Crosby census.
Can anybody give me any ideas how I might find out who Ann
Yes!

Do you feel that your 4th removed G-Grandaunt Eliza Dockham Keys could be
connected to my Keys?

Hi Amy: Try contacting Shirley Morris Hackett
[ShirleyHackett@Sympatico.ca]. She has done a lot of research in Leeds
County. By the way, I was born and raised in Athens!

I have found a burial for a Thomas and Margaret [Cotter?] Maloney in one of
your cemeteries. I believe it was St.Paul Neri's and I was wondering if any
one has a copy of the dates, etc from the gravestone> I don't know if he was a
relative or not and would really like the information if possible. Thank
you very much and Happy Holidays, Jean
Would some kind person who has a copy of this 1861 census please tell me whether there is a Michael Bolph, labourer, age about 65, living with the family of Thomas Balfe/Bolf and his wife Sarah/Sally Kenny.
I'd be in your debt forever.
Anne
Many, many thanks for all the interesting Balfe quotes from this book--which
I'll have to get. I noticed a Kenny reference as well, and Thomas Balfe's
wife Sarah/Sally was a Kenny.

Scroll down near the bottom of the page and find a transcription of the
1851., also 1861 plus many other marriage etc transcriptions.
I looked at the reel yesterday trying to find a bit more but many of the
areas were not there, lost somewhere.
Hope this works for you.

Jean,
The other Maloney's are: Loretta J. 1911, Joseph 1902, Walter P. 1909, his wife Margaret T. Freeman--all in the same plot.
And in a different section, James Maloney 1867-1958 / his wife Elizabeth Murphy 1875-1943 / Cecelia Maloney 1904-1972 / Sylvester Maloney 1902

Marguerite,
Well that is an interesting report in the courier. I just could not help
but try to figure out who he might have been, although my other North
