1. [ORCLACKA] Re: Obituaries in Clackamas County [1]
Flavia - it helps if you have the city - Oregon City and Milwaukie and possibly Lake Oswego all had their own newspapers by the 1920's. Also some obituaries by then would be published in the Oregonian. If the death occurred in the Oregon City area I can look up the obituary - can you find anything more specific than Clackamas County? 4. [ORCLACKA] Re: Thompson in New Era [1]
New Era district is on the southern edge of Oregon City on the Willamette River. I'm not sure when I can get to the library in the next week but I've printed your question and will check when I can. Karin Morey Oregon City, OR
5. Re: [ORCLACKA] please read [1]
Try e-mailing the Oregon Archives and asking them for the death certificate for Jacob Thompson between 1910 and 1920. It's worth a try. If that doesn't work let me know, some times the vital records departments will search that many years. It's actually easy, they make it sound hard. They have indexes in most counties now. Even the small ones. Clackamas County Courthouse, Circuit Court File Room: Birth Certificates [filmed with Death Certificates], 1902-1920 (1 reel of microfilm); reference.archives@stat

8. [ORCLACKA-L] Waters Carman [1]
Hi Everyone -- I am hoping that someone has information about Waters CARMAN. He took Donation Land Claim # 74 (Certificate # 1663). It was for 326 acres in the northwest corner of Clackamas County. It was in Twp. 2S Range 1E; today it is in Lake Oswego near highway I-5. Carman Drive in that area must have been named for him. From records in the Oregon History Center, Waters Carman was born in 1811 in Luzerne Co., PA and was in Oregon before Dec. 1, 1850. He married in 1852 to Mrs. Lucret
9. Re: [ORCLACKA] Re: Obituary lookups [1]
Hi Karin, thanks for the offer. I think there won't be a death cert for Uriah Payne as he died in 1895. Hopefully there will be an obit someplace. CiCi
10. [ORCLACKA] Griffiths,Drake, Pope, 1926 [1]

CICI & Flavia - I can check the Oregon death records and get a death certificate number on the deaths after about 1905, prior to that it's cross your fingers that something got printed in the old Oregon City newspaper. I'm off work on Monday so I'll go on a quest then! Karin
