Flavia - it helps if you have the city - Oregon City and Milwaukie and
possibly Lake Oswego all had their own newspapers by the 1920's. Also some
obituaries by then would be published in the Oregonian.
If the death occurred in the Oregon City area I can look up the obituary -
can you find anything more specific than Clackamas County?

Unfortunately, I don't have it. I didn't look, but does Oregon have
death certificates at the State
Looking for the family of Michael Mann who was on the Clackamas Co., Or.
1870 census. He was 38 at the time, lists wife, Margaret, age 28, Phebe,
age 6, James, age 5, Sarah, age 4 and Julia, age 2. Any help would be most
appreciated. Judy
New Era district is on the southern edge of Oregon City on the Willamette
River.
I'm not sure when I can get to the library in the next week but I've printed
your question and will check when I can.

Try e-mailing the Oregon Archives and asking them for the death certificate
for Jacob Thompson between 1910 and 1920. It's worth a try. If that doesn't
work let me know, some times the vital records departments will search that
many years. It's actually easy, they make it sound hard. They have indexes
in most counties now. Even the small ones.

To all,
I need some help with this Clackamas County family. I need to find the
cemetery where they are buried. I also need full death dates, hopefully
they'll be on the cemetery stones. I hope to find obituaries for them.
Jacob THOMPSON & Charlotte JOHNSON were married in Clackamas County, OR in
1891
They had 2 children, Charlie in 1892 and Jennie in about 1901. Jennie
isn't listed with the family in 1920. Jacob is deceased after 1910 and
before 1920.
This family lived in New Era Preci
Jarrett H. Kimsey died 29 March 1926 in Clackamus County. Does anyone
have a suggestion as to where I might look for an obituary?

Hi Everyone --
I am hoping that someone has information about Waters CARMAN. He took
Donation Land Claim # 74 (Certificate # 1663). It was for 326 acres in the
northwest corner of Clackamas County. It was in Twp. 2S Range 1E; today it
is in Lake Oswego near highway I-5. Carman Drive in that area must have been
named for him.
From records in the Oregon History Center, Waters Carman was born in 1811
in Luzerne Co., PA and was in Oregon before Dec. 1, 1850. He married in 1852
to Mrs. Lucret
Hi Karin, thanks for the offer. I think there won't be a death cert for
Uriah Payne as he died in 1895. Hopefully there will be an obit someplace.

I am seeking information on the Franklin T. Griffith, Charles H. Griffith,
the Donald Drake families who were living in Portland, Ore in 1926. I am
researching the Griffith family and I found their mother's Piedmont, Calif.
obituary which named these children living in Portland. I believe Mrs.
Donald Drake was a granddaughter. If anyone knows of descendants of these
families who might be willing to help my research of the Griffiths I would
appreciation the information.
As a new member I was puzzled

Actually, Portland is in Multnomah County. The most informative Oregon list
that I have access to is the OR Roots lists throught the Oregon Archives at:

I want to thank those who helped me gather information on the family of
Waters CARMAN. He was born in 1811 (in NY or CT), moved to Illinois in 1822,
to California in 1849 and to Oregon in 1852. To help those who have
information on only one of his marriages, I will list below both wives and
all of his children.
Waters' parents were Jacob Carman, Jr. and Mahala Golden, both born about
1785. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Carman, Sr. (born November 13,
1747 in Oyster Bay, NY) and Rach
I am looking for information on Rev. J.P. Allison and his
wife Mary (Long) Allison. They came to Oregon after 1865 in
an ox drawn wagon. They settled in the Springwater district
and ran a general store. Please contact me if you have any
information.
