Does anyone out there know a lady from Walker Co AL named Elizabeth Sherer? I have checked with Willie Barton and the public library in Jasper, but no one can help me. She was into genealogy and I believe she might have known about J. Henry O'Rear who died 16 Feb 1922. If anyone knows Elizabeth please let me know. It seems like my last hope is to call each Sherer in the Jasper phone book. Betty ==== OREAR Mailing List ==== To unsub or for more info on the OREAR list please see: http://members.ao

9. [OREAR-L] O'Rear [1]
Donna, While at the library in the past I looked at some microfilm records for Hancock County, GA. In the Index to Deeds and Mortgages John O'Rear is shown as having bought land from Sherwood Wise in 1799. This index also showed that John sold land to Jesse Brantley in 1800. This is the same info you posted earlier. Listed in the 1802 Tax Return for Hancock County are: Daniel O'Rear Ben O'Rear John O'Rear, Sr. William O'Rear The earliest date I have for John O'Rear in Hancock County is 1796
