1. [OSBORNE] Francis Marion Osborne [1]
I am once again starting to work on the family history. I have Francis Marion Osborne, born in 1825 in Camden County, GA (married to Martha A. Eason) as the son of John Howell Osborne, Sr. 1793-1830 and Maria Francis Marion Parson. This information was given to me by two sources in my family. However, my son who is also working on the family tree received an email stating this is in error and that Francis Marion is not the son of John Howell Osborne. Can anyone help me with this information? Thanks. S

3. [OSBORNE] Scots Irish Research Materials [1]
Hello fellow researchers, It has been several months since I last offered to share some of the more important research items discovered during my study of the Scotch-Irish. Because of the amount of time required to copy and mail these items I will only be able to do this once a year. ( I make my living selling real estate) You will find three new items listed below as well as the original items listed in my January post. Rockbridge County, Virginia Notebook, Compiled from Articles by Dr. George W.
4. [OSBORNE] Osborn, Photographer, Charleston, SC [1]
I have a copy of a 'stereograph' taken at the beginning of the Civil War and the back reads: "From Osborn and Durbec's Southern Stereoscopic & Photographic Depot, 223 King Street, Charleston, South Carolina," with a notation from the copy's source that Osborn and Durbec were active in SC primarily in 1860 and 1861. Hoping this might be a help to Osborn researchers seeking ancestors in the Charleston area. Nancy, researching: Baldridge, Cain, Courtney, Curtis, Carmichael, Dawkins, Doty, Garmon, Garrett

19. Re: [OSBORNE] DNA [1]
It is my understanding that Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) has the largest database of surname projects. You might see what you can do to get listed with them or join y-search. Y-search allows you to see matches from among people who have tested with other companies. Not all people who have tested with Family Tree DNA have joined y-search, but many have. Occasionally FTDNA makes offers that will allow you to join. I understand, but do not know for sure, that not all companies test the same markers. Lee Anne
