A few comments on internet map sites. www.mapquest.com is quite good for finding small villages. Even found a farm name in Smaland, Sweden on their site. Just go to the MAPS section, select Germany and put in your village name. Found Accum, Germany on this site. Found a new site today. It is www.viamichelin.com , you have to register but it's free. Under options you can set the size of the map up to 800x600, A4 paper size. Could not find Accum, Germany here though. However you get large maps and you ca

Mabel, Check the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild website (immigrantships.org)for the "Rhein" arriving in New York, March 21, 1881 for the Van Hagel name. Passenger # 293 is a John van Hagel. (I did get a copy of his death certificate, which verified that he was born in Wiesens and also listed his parents names Rolf and Gebkea Franzen Loschen/Loeschen) I had asked St Johannes ev. Luth Kirche, in Wiesens to check some time ago and they had no record of Albert for some reason. Now that I have his parents names, I emailed them again and am awaiting a reply. Any other info
