Henriette Catharina Gerdes was born 10 May 1848 near
Groeningerhaeuser, where her father Gerd Gerdes lived as a farm
labourer. The OSB Werdum, published 1971, gives most of the
information on the Gerdes family, her father's family no. being 2263..
The census of 3 Dec 1861 (State archives Aurich, Rep. 46 no. 188)
lists her together with her father and his second wife Trientke Maria
Janssen at Poggenburg, municipality of Altharlingersiel, house no.

Hi to distant cousin Diana--
I don't have any definitive info on Gesche Eilers but her death notice
was in the Ostfrisiche Nachrichten, number 24, 1891, but it doesn't give
her birth place or maiden name (per Boyken's "Wo sind sie geblieben...")
The surname is spelled as Mueller and only her husband and one son are
listed as survivors.
There's an article about Albert Miller and wife Rachel Jurgens in Dobbs'
History of Gage County, Nebraska, 1918. It only gives her birthplace as
Germany. According to that

I was just going to say that I know they have some (most?) of the volumes in
Ft. Wayne. I remember however that the ONE vol that had a Bode genealogy
they did not have, BUT the OGSA library in Forest Lake MN has a number of
volumes.

Hello everyone,
I have found a document that I THINK may be important to me. It is in a German script that I can not decipher. It may just be poor handwritting as I can get some words like mit, zu Loga, May. Can I, and if I can, how would I scan that to either this list or the extra list and see if anyone could help me with that?
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Randy,
They do have a good collection of the parish records. It seems that St.
Georgiwold won't allow SLC to have the complete filmed parish records BUT
The Hague has the complete set.
And I like the other member too!!

Moin,
I am looking to connect Hiske Arends with my family. She was born 1812 and
died 1901. By 1885 she had emigrated to the US because she shows up in some
guardianship documents where Cornelius Bode is the designated guardian for
Hiske Arends who is feeble minded. I have found her burial in Alexander
Cemetery, Franklin County, but I have been unsuccessful in finding her in
the census. I doubt she married and had a familyor at least none was
mentioned in 1885.
Any help you can give is greatl
I wish to particularly thank H.-J. Adams for hosting/posting the
information on the St. Barbara Church, Strackholt. Very nice job and
translation.

that church, who later emigrated from Strackholt to marry Johann Bonnen

I have been researching the Brakenhoff family for some time and have a brick
wall I am hoping you can help with.
My husband's great-grandfather, Harm Brakenhoff, and most of his siblings
immigrated as adults, to Montgomery County, Illinois at different times from
approximately 1850 to 1882. The youngest, Frerich (Fred), born 29 January
1847 in Ostfriesland, seems to have disappeared. I know he was in Nokomis,
Illinois in 1873 when he signed his brother Eilert's application for
naturalization.
Aiko,
Thanks so much. This tied together a lot of loose ends.
