Odd Fellows was closed in 1951 and all graves were moved to Lawnview
Cemetery. Their address is 500 Huntington Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046
(215-379-1600). I was able to get interment data from them on individual
graves moved fron Odd Fellows.

Hello:
Does anyone know if there is a Westminster Cemetery in Philadelphia? I just received a death certificate for Augustus Row (1914) which is quite faded in the writing. It appears to be Westminster.
Best,
Edna

Thanks for the new site.? What is the name of the person that you are looking for.? Maybe if we search and look at the Death Record we can come up with something.?

I pulled up an 1896 Death Certificate on http://labs.familysearch.org/ and the
Family Search interpretation of the burial place is Har Haseisrin Maria Szman.
The certificate itself is very poorly written. Anyone have a clue as to what
cemetery this is?Larry B. I'm Larry B. and I approve this message. :-)

Hello, I'm new to this list. After many years of hitting a brick wall,
I've finally made some break throughs with my Scholl family in
Philadelphia. I was very excited to find my gg grandparents' death
records on line and found out they are buried at Mount Vernon Cemetery.
But after reading this list's archived messages concerning this cemetery,
I'm disheartened. I had planned to contact the cemetery for records and
hopefully find someone to take pictures of the graves for me. I live in

Hello,
Patrick is the Irish man in charge of the cemetery and he is always helpful. It is quite a beautiful place. You would be just as safe alone as anywhere else, but 2 is always better. I offered to buy Patrick a computer but he declined. All the records must be looked up by date and name-if it were computerized those elusive relatives could perhaps be found. In time!

hi peggy, i have relatives who are enterred there . . it is a rather large

to be walking in the cemetery . . . u should ask a friend to accompany you . .

It is possible, but not probable, that the Historical Society of PA may have Blockley Baptist Cemetery records.
You should contact the Free Library about an 1833 obit.

Dear List,
A cousin told me some time ago that her aunt and uncle were buried in the "Episcopal churchyard, Penlyn, PA." I don't find that on a map. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what Episcopal Church in that area has a cemetery?
Thanks,

I have a relative who was buried at Hanover St. Ground. I did a search for
this cemetery and came up with Kensington M. E. Church Ground, Hanover St.
north of Thompson (removed to Forrest Hills).
At the time of death they lived at 1033 E. York St. (31st ward). Would
Hanover St. Ground be the Kensington one mentioned above do you think?
Thanks for any help

In April, my husband and I visited Philadelphia to do my Burk Family
research.
We went to the Philadelphia City Archives, Genealogical Society of
PA/Historical Society of PA and visited a couple cemeteries.
For anyone doing research using the Vital (Birth/Marriage/and Death)
records, I recommend going to the Genealogical/Historical Society. Films and
microfilm reader printers are in much better to read and print and the copies are
cheaper than the Philadelphia City Archives. No offense to the

Thanks for your reply. It is also my "ggg" grandparents who are buried
there. I left out a "g" in my original post. To those who have obtained
copies of records from Mount Vernon, was there useful information
provided, such as names of family members, cause of death, birth date,
etc.? I already know the date of death, so if that is all that is
provided, besides the burial info, I wouldn't want to pay a large fee.
