What is your plan? Be specific. To set up a vendor table? For what purpose? You didn't answer my question: how many hundreds of thousands of dollars would a vendor table earn? You did not give anything like a coherent proposal. You want a list of veterans buried in Mt. Moriah? There are such lists. Designated as a historical site? By whom? How? And if some entity would designate the cemetery a "historical site", so what! You still need to raise the money to fix the cemetery. There is no way that the city of

PS In my first sentence in the other e-mail, of course I meant "the only reason why. . ." Cheri In response to your post saying that the Historical Society of Pa and the Genealogical society of Pa have burial records on line..... How can they be accessed. I have been to the HSP and can't find where they might be. Could you give a step by step instruction for us that have never used the sites please? Dear Gene, We are all concerned with trying to improve the situation. That is the obvious and only why we post and share ideas. And your messages have often brought up good, practical points about what not to do, in the sense that you have known a lot about the problem for a long time, and so could save others from the wasteful and frustrating tendency to unknowingly "reinvent the wheel." For that I thank you sincerely, because, again, the point is to improve things, at least to some extent, that is

My positive suggestion is that everyone take up a task that is likely to be successful. I doubt that Mt. Moriah qualifies.Mt. Moriah is privately owned. The owners don't seem to be interested in improving the cemetery or they can't afford to fix it, or both Raise enough money and find enough lawyers who have the time to drag this thing through the courts for the next few years, or decades. I have had some experience with the workings of the Philadelphia Orphans Court with respect to another cemetery which i

Hi John: I was wondering if you could check some names for me. My ancestor, Charles H. Jump who was a Civil War veteran was buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery on Feb. 26, 1899. His wife Sarah was buried there in 1906. I know they have a son named Henry or Harry. I was wondering if you could check to see if he is buried there. Also if you could see if there are any other Jumps there. Thanks so much for your help. Karen ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Ellingsworth" To:
