Jeremiah C. JOHNSON, 56 years old, died at his home, 510 Anthony street,
Carnegie, at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, December 21, 1924. Mr. JOHNSON was a
well-known oil well driller. Many years ago he lived in McDonald and later
with his family took up his residence near Treveskyn, where he was employed
in the oil field by the Golden Oil Co. While in and near McDonald he was a
member of the First United Presbyterian church of McDonald. After moving to
Carnegie he transferred his membership to the F
SCOTT, CARROLL, MILLER, CRAWFORD, BUTTERWORTH
Robert C. SCOTT, a well-known farmer of near Venice, died Saturday evening,
July 3, aged 47 years. Mr. SCOTT was born on the same farm on which he
died. He was a son of the late John P. SCOTT. He is survived by his wife,
Elizabeth WALLACE SCOTT, and by four children, also by his mother, Mrs. J.P
SCOTT of McDonald, three brothers and one sister. The brothers are John
Elmer SCOTT, Venice; William L. SCOTT of McDonald; and George W. SCOTT of

CATON
John Wilbur, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. CATON, died Saturday
evening, June 12, at 11:30 at the family home in Coraopolis. Death was due
to injuries received by accidentally falling into a large bucket of boiling
water the morning of the same day. Master Wilber was three years and two
months old, and was a favorite with all the household. His parents and five
sisters and one brother survive him. His father, who has been employed at
the Panama Canal for upwards of three years, has not seen
Julia SHEFCHIK LAMBERT, 79, of Mobile, Ala., formerly of Webster, died
Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, in a Mobile health care facility following a short
illness.
Born Aug. 3, 1918, in Webster, she was the daughter of the late Michael
and Helen WOYTOWICH SHEFCHIK.
She attended schools in Webster and graduated from Rostraver High
School.
She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile.

Died in the hospital in Pittsburgh April 19, Mrs. A. G. MILLER, aged 46
years. The remains were brought to her home here for interment. The
deceased was a consistent member of the Midway Baptist church and was
beloved by all who knew her. She leaves her husband, two sons, G. H. and
William, and a little daughter Edith and a number of relatives to mourn her
loss. The funeral services were held at her home on Wednesday and were in

At Mercy Hospital, Pgh., PA., on Monday, May 10, 1965, Jennie M. Tidball of
Campbell Run Rd., Robinson Twp., in her 85th year, widow of Wm. F. Tidball;
mother of Merle H. and Nola Herman; sister of Nellie Scott and Bertha

HOLMAN, BARROWMAN
Died June 4, Frank, son of Mr. and Mrs. Findley HOLMAN, aged about 24
years. The deceased had been afflicted for a number of years with a spinal
disease for which every known remedy was tried, without relief. He leaves
his parents and several brothers to mourn his loss. The funeral services
were held at his late home on Sunday, conducted by Rev. J. J. DAVIS of the
M. E. Church. Interment in Chestnut Ridge cemetery near Florence.

Jack J. LAUGHLIN, 75, of Ray City, Ga., formerly of the Warner section
of Fallowfield Township, died Saturday, October 11, 1997, in Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, V_____ M_____ LAUGHLIN; one son and
daughter-in-law, Bruce and Patricia LAUGHLIN of Ray City, Ga., and one
brother, Gene of Idaho.
Burial was Oct. 13 in Ray City.
SHAW, AYERS
John E. SHAW, aged 25 years, died at three o'clock Saturday afternoon,
October 23, after a five week's illness. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E.
SHAW of North McDonald street. The funeral was on Tuesday and was in charge
of the Rev. Ernest FRYCKLUND, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Interment was at McKeesport. Besides the parents, two sisters Mr. R. W.
DETRY of El___, Ohio and Mrs. John G. TESTER of McDonald, survive.

Mrs. James CROUCH, 59 years old, died of cancer on Tuesday morning, June
29, at 7 o'clock, after an illness of about six months, at her home, one
mile south of McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. CROUCH last fall took possession of the
Harry MCEWEN farm which tad purchased. They came her from Independence,
where for twenty years they had lived on the PERRIN farm. Mrs. CROUCH is
survived by her husband, who is very ill at this time, a son, Chauncy CROUCH

Mr. DEITRICH, a former resident of this place, died at his home in
Jeannette, Pa., May 6. Mrs. Peter STRAIN and Mrs. LYKE are daughters of the

James P. GILBERT, 80, of 405 Bentley Towers, Bentleyville, died Tuesday,
Oct. 14, 1997, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1917, in McKeesport
Mr. GILBERT was an auto body technician with the former Max GOLDMAN
Chrysler Plymouth dealership in Brownsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy LEEPER GILBERT in 1967, and
a son, James P. GILBERT on Feb. 28, 1985.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey M. GILBERT of Richeyville; three

WOODS, WILLIAMS, HOLMES, RALPH
Dr. Ralph D. WOODS died on Wednesday morning, June 23, at five o'clock in
the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburg, of pneumonia, after an illness of five
days. Dr. WOODS was an ambitious young man and was rapidly rising in the
practice of his profession when taken ill. He was born in Bethel township,
Allegheny County, Pa., thirty years ago, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. W.
F. WOODS, who for a quite a number of years have resided one mile south of

LA ROSS, FAYOLLE, PATTERSON
Miriam, the youngest child of Dr. and Mrs. W. A. LA ROSS, died at the
family home early Monday morning, February 15, aged three years and ten
months. Besides the parents, two sisters and one brother survive as
follows: Margaret, Rosina and William. The funeral services were held
Wednesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D., assisted
by Rev. J. P. JORDAN and Rev. J. W. ENGLISH, D. D. Interment was made in
Robinson's Run cemetery.

MCPEAK
David MCPEAK died shortly after midnight Thursday of last week at his home
in Burgettstown, following an illness of about two weeks. Mr. MCPEAK was
aged almost sixty-three years, having been born April 26, 1846, at the
MCPEAK homestead in Cecil township, the son of James and Jane (COCHRAN)
MCPEAK. During his youth and early manhood he followed farming, and on
November 4, 1869, was united in marriage to Mary J. BELL, daughter of Robert
BELL of Clarion County, Pa. The couple later moved to near Bu
Ralph M. BOOTH, 69, of 685 Meldon Ave., Donora, die Tuesday, Oct. 14,
1997, in Mon-Valley Hospital, Carroll Township.
Born Sept. 25, 1928, in Belle Vernon, he was a son of the late Maurice
and Ellen DEVERAUX (DEVROUDE is the correct spelling) BOOTH.
Mr. BOOTH had been a store manager for Isaly Dairy Co, retiring in 1985.
A U. S. Army veteran, he was a member of the First United Methodist
Church of Donora.

Maurice H. BOOTH, Jr., Cleveland, Ohio, a former Charleroi resident, died
Monday in Wakefield Veteran's Hospital, Cleveland, after a lingering
illness.
He was the son of the late Maurice and Ellen DEVROUDE BOOTH.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche ROBINSON.
He is survived by is widow, Mary Jane Anderson BOOTH; two brothers, Ralph
of Donora and Clayton of Framingham, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. Chester (Edna)
HOTZ of Monessen; two nieces and six nephews.

Charles, the eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George GRIMES of North
avenue, died suddenly Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock of diphtheritic croup.
The funeral took place Tuesday. Interment was made in St. Patrick's
cemetery, Noblestown.

Florence M. SIMPSON, 70, of 435 Fifth St., Donora, died Tuesday, Oct. 14,
1997, at 10:25 a.m. in Canonsburg Hospital, following an illness of the past
10 months.
She was born May 26, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Ernest
and Florence M. ECHLIN BEARDSLEY.
Mrs. SIMPSON was a homemaker and resided in Donora for the past 20
years.
She was Catholic by faith.

KINSKEY
Karl KINSKEY died at his home here on Sunday morning at 2:30 o'clock. Mr.
KINSKEY's health had been bad for some time, and he was taken worse about
two weeks ago. He was a native of Germany and was about 67 years of age.
His wife, two sons, and one daughter survive him.

Mrs. Robert Robinson
Mrs. Bella Crooks Robinson, 78, died Saturday, January 2, 1965, in her home
in Spring street, Oakdale, following a 15-month illness.
Mrs. Robinson was born March 16, 1886, on a farm in North Fayette Township,
near Imperial. She was the second of three daughters of the late Henry R.
and Sadie Mevey Crooks. In March, 1891, the family moved to Oakdale.

Michael SIMCO, aged one year, died Sunday night, December 7, 1924, at the
home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael SIMCO, at Shaw mine. Funeral

Mrs. Fern MEEKER GLADDEN, wife of Frank R. GLADDEN, died at her home in
Third street, McDonald, at eight o'clock Thursday morning, January 8, 1925,
after an illness of about two weeks of pneumonia. Mrs. GLADDEN was taken
ill the day after Christmas. Her condition was serious from the first. She
made a brave fight for life, however, and all that was humanly possible was
done to help her, but without avail.
