1. [PABEAVER-L] Re: Henderson [1]
> William John HENDERSON married Arabella BARNES, d/o William BARNES >and Mary WALLACE, circa 1880. My Hendersons were much earlier....John Henderson (b. ca 1760) married Elizabeth Miller (dau of John/Jean Miller of Washington Co.): children John, Mary, Aldeline, Alex (?)and Thomas. The family left Beaver County for Ohio about 1804 and lived in Jefferson County, they later moved to Birmingham, Van Buren County, Iowa. Hope someone will recognize some of these names/places?? rondie - -------------------
2. Re: [PABEAVER-L] Methodist Circut Riders [0.984938]
One of my Great Grandfathers was a Methodist circuit rider. My Grandad wrote in his autobiography about him. Will look up what he had to say. I think he had several borthers who were circuit riders as well. Great Grandad was Cyrus Milligan Prior and did his riding in Ohio. All this religion and Grandad didn't believe!! Sad. When I get there-and I KNOW where I am going-I don't expect to see him. My other Grandad is there as well as many members of my family. Will get back to you in a couple of days.
3. [PABEAVER-L] Methodist Circut Riders [0.984938]
I am in the process of researching early Methodist Circut Riders and would like to hear stories out of family histories about these men and their effect on the people of the time. If you have a story you would like to share with me you can send it to my personal e-mail address so the whole list doesn't have to read them. mailto:jbobin@fyi.net Thanks for your help. Rev. This is true. Thank you for bringing that up. We were talking about the Westfield Cemetery earlier-- And I guess I was thinking that she meant present--not past. 8. [PABEAVER-L] Re: PABEAVER-D Digest V99 #190 [0.984938]
Dear List, I recently wrote to Oak Grove Cemetery at this address: 270 Highview Circle, Freedom, PA 15042. There was a wonderful woman named Penny Giles who answered my request. I listed the people I was interested in and she supplied burial dates. I don't know what other information she may provide. I knew the relatives that were buried there and listed them to make it easier on whomever may reply. I would hate for her to get inundated with a bunch of letters. If anyone wants, I am going ther
9. [PABEAVER-L] Reno [0.984938]
My Dad knew a man named Lindsay Reno, who was from Freedom, I think, but could have been from Rochester, Beaver Falls, or someplace else --don't really remember. I only remember because my Dad's ggrandmother was a Lindsay, and I've often wondered if there was any relation there. Have you heard of a Lindsay Reno in Beaver County. My dad was born 1903, so Lindsay would have been around that age, too. We left up there for Miami in 1946. Just curious Marcia Mann Duggins

12. [PABEAVER-L] Need lookup in census records [0.984938]
Hi, I am trying to find the family of William Bercaw who would have had a daughter named Jennie in the 1890 Beaver Co. census. Jennie married in what I believe to be 1891 so the 1890 census would be the last she would be listed as Bercaw. Would like to have her mother's name also. If someone could, I also would like to check census for 1880 for Beaver Co. to see if family is listed there. Can anyone help? Thank you. Gloria - respond to 1stfbc@gte.net

14. Re: [PABEAVER-L] North Beaver Township [0.984938]
Hi Sis, You are certainly correct - now. But in the year Sharlene was asking about, there was no Lawrence County, and the Beaver/Mercer Co. line just about split New Castle. All of which makes it kind of tough for those of us having ancestors in the Big Beaver, North Beaver, you name it Beaver TWPs. Iral Nelson Richland, WA

Kelly, We're working on the same lines and I, too, found a lot of my information through the LDS records. I've been in touch with the lady who submitted them and written to her asking where she found some of the information. To date, no reply even though I included a SASE. I know and have proved that William E. Boggs, of Butler Co., was married twice. The second time to Mary E. (Lopeman). From the LDS records it appears that William and your Ellen were siblings. Sometime after the death of Wi
16. Re: [PABEAVER-L] ODD FELLOWS [0.984938]
Shortly after the Civil War, social and fraternal organizations became very popular but they seem to be on the decline after World War II. Odd Fellows, Elks Club, Masons, Modern Woodsman, etc. Some had corresponding organization for wives. Each club had it's own purpose, some were purely social. You frequently see fraternal organizations' motif on tombstones. Stephenie

Ok, It lists the carriers for 1930 along with the substitutes and the rural delivery carriers. Its an article about the mail, but the name Cottam wasnt listed. In 1889 under William Grim were 5 carriers-no names listed. If your still interested in this article I can scan it for you (may be a 2 parts to it). I will check on the other names as I go thru. Any other info you could give me on Marquis and Curl? No names listed in the obits by Marquis or Curl. I will keep looking for you though. Sorry. Sis >Fr
