1. Re: [PABeav'r] Re: Benner 1870 1880 Illinois census [1]
Yes...Caroline did marry David Maple. Caroline was the daughter of John & Sarah (Herzel) Benner. She was born in Beaver County PA (b. 10 April 1827). I don't have a record for when she married David Maple. In 1850 Caroline is still living with her parents in Clay Twp., Scioto County, Ohio. In 1860 she is listed with David Maple in Jefferson Twp., Scioto County, Ohio. In the 1860 census David Maple listed his birthplace as PA. I ASSUME the Maple Family made the move to Clay Twp., Scioto County OH (possibly w

5. Re: [PABeav'r] Small family [1]
Re this Small family: Does anyone know anything about the spouses of several of them. I am especially interested in Joseph Grove husband of Mary Small. Who were his parents and when was he born and died? Any information would be helpful. Are Joseph Grove and Mary Small mentioned in the Beaver Co.History Book? Also interested in Margaret Graham and Martha McElheny. Thanks, Helen >. Johannes Schmahl (1747-1819) m. Anna Catherine Frederick (see Note 7) > > C1. Jacob Small >
6. [PABeav'r] Sarah Herzel [1]
I am looking for anyone who may have information on Sarah Herzel (the name may be spelled Hertzel, Hartzell or possibly other varieties). Sarah (Beaver County) married Johannes Benner (New Sewickley Twp., Beaver County) on 9 October 1825. Johannes was probably from Bucks or Lehigh County and it is possible that Sarah was also. Some time between 1840 and 1850 John and Sarah moved from Beaver County (PA) to Clay Twp., Scioto County (OH). John and Sarah had the following known children; Caroline, Catherine, Ma
7. Re: [PABeav'r] Sarah Herzel [1]
Carol, These are the parents I'm looking to find. It is actually John Benner I am trying to locate although Sarah (Herzel) and her family interest me as well. I have a record for a son (Simon) of John & Maria (Beringer) Benner from Lower Milford Reformed Church (Lehigh County, PA). Simon was the brother of John (who married Sarah Herzel). Simon was born in 1808. From census records I know John was born in 1805. Since it was 3 years earlier than Simon I'm assuming his birth was in Bucks County or Lehigh Cou

Andy, A quick check of the Warner 1888 History of Beaver County found the following. Could these parents be the couple you're looking for? William H. Hooper...b. Pittsburgh Jan 17, 1831 married Nov. 21 1850 Merie Benner, who was born in Butler county PA., April 19, 1831, daughter of John and Sarah Benner, the former deceased, the latter yet livng ...[Hooper] settled in Freedom,PA, had one child living, Olive E. I have Caroline Benner and David Maple's marriage date as July 26, 1855 in Scioto Co., OH. I am not sure who David's parents were. The MAPLE family and a family named HICKMAN traveled together from Beaver Co., PA to Columbiana Co., OH and Scioto Co., OH. I am not sure of the dates. John MAPLE (1813-1872) married Nancy HICKMAN. They had 11 children--8 still living in 1884. Nancy was living in Saline Co., IL in 1884. Another BENNER/MAPLE connection: Simon and Barbara Ketterer BENNER's daughter Barba
