I apprecite your efforts! scarlett1@bwsys.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Buckingham" To: Sent: Friday, September 02, 2005 6:54 PM Subject: [PABUCKS-L] Maps > Hello All, > > > > I have just posted 2 new maps to my web site that may be of interest to > some >
2. Margaret Atkinson, Jos. Gilbert c 1700 [1]
From Alan Buckingham's post with the 2 new maps, I have found a mystery. In one of the properties in Buckingham twp, there is a listing of Margaret Atkinson and Jos. Gilbert. I have two Margaret's in that area, but they were both 8 yrs old, and neither married anyone names Gilbert. I am looking for any information for either Margaret or Joseph. -- "You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions." - Naguib Mahfous
3. WWI Register at Courthouse?, and Allen family [1]
Hello Listmembers, I live out of state, and once wrote to ask if someone in the Bucks County Recorder's office could check to see if my grandfather (Russell T. Allen) had recorded his discharge papers from WWI there at the courthouse. Well, you know how they can be sometimes. I was told quite simply that I would have to come there in person to check. Not rude, but not very helpful either. I still don't know for sure if there was a separate register for that sort of recording or not. Is anyone

5. Nockamixon Churches [1]
Hi Listers, I have a birth and baptism certificate for one of my ancestors from 1856. It is in Old German print so it's hard for me to make it out. Best I can tell, he was born in 1855 and baptised in 1856. It appears that he was baptised by someone named "Miller" I can't make out the first two initials since the record was taped back together by my grandparents some years ago. I was wondering if there was a church leader, a reverand, a pastor, etc. with the last name of "Miller" around that time. I'
6. CONRAD [1]
I have a name on my charts that I would love to connect more people to. The name is Ruth Styer /Conrad/. (1892-) She is the daughter of Horace G /Conrad/ (1860-) and Parmelia Henly /Thompson/ (1861-). I have names on her father's side, but I have nothing more on her mother's. As you notice, I also have no other dates either. Any help would be appreciated. -- "You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. 7. Question Concerning Surname Page Bucks Co Site. [1]
Good Morning Have a question for the list concerning the surname page located at the PAGen Web site for BUCkS county site.http://www.rootsweb.com/~pabucks Does the list feel the page are helpful to them. The reason I ask is I'm finding it very hard to keep the email address up-to-date. If you feel the pages are important would someone or several someones on the list be welling to do a check on the emails to see if they are still good. I've had volunteers in the past do this for me. If several people are
8. Alexander & Louisa Thompson [1]
Hello to all, Wondering if anyone has information or suggestions on Alexander Thompson, born about 1803 in Scotland. He was in Bucks County by at least 1840 (Morrisville). He married Louisa (unkown surname) before abt. 1826 when their daughter Eliza Ann (wife of Isaac Parsons) was born. Other known child is Catherine, b. in abt 1828 (wife of Henry Marion). I was able to last find Alexander in the 1860 census, and his wife Louisa in the 1880 census. Anyone connected to this family? I would appreciate
9. Searching: desc of Johann Georg Friederich Friess [1]
I am trying to trace the descendants of Johann Georg Friedrich Friess. They reportedly settled in Bucks and Mongtomery Counties. Here's what I know so far: Johann Georg and his wife Anna Elizabetha nee Hirsch were both born in the area of Wolfstein, Germany. They came to this country in 1754 and Georg is found on the passenger list of the ship "Phoenix" on 10-1-1754 from Rotterdam. German records show one child with the initial N. No other information. We know that their other children were Jacob b.
10. PABUCKS-L & PA-WELSH-EARLY-L Address Problem? [1]
I'm suddenly having a new problem in attempting to reply to messages on these two lists. When I use REPLY on either list, the messages are being addressed to the individual who submitted the query rather than to the entire list. I manually added the the addresses to this message (and the last message I sent to PABUCKS-L), because the list addresses no longer appear automatically. I thought something might have gone wrong with my mail program, but I tested and found no problem in addressing messages

12. Re: [PABUCKS-L] Question Concerning Surname Page Bucks Co Site. [1]
I have a few names (with information) posted there, and my address is correct. I'm very glad the list exists and I find that even the posts with outdated addresses are helpful if they include additional information about the families. It's very well organized and easy to search, so could serve very well as a query board. I didn't notice any other Bucks County query site that was that well organized. Is there one? Most other genealogy sites also include outdated addresses, but it is really the respon

15. New to list......Joseph Hough & Lydia Hurst [1]
Hello, I am trying to decipher between what is correct and what is incorrect in my tree. I descend from a Jacob Hough and wife Charlotte Smith......there is so much data out there that can be mistakes, that I am not sure what is correct for Jacob's parents. I also heard of some bios or information in a Buck

19. RE: Researching the Leidy Family/PA [1]
Joseph.. You might want to take a look into www.rootsweb.com and into the WorldConnect selections. There are about 385 million name entries. Most critical for you, there are several that reference your Leidy couple. The normal caution... Those who are good and nice enough to post these families will at times make errors of attribution, and sometimes copy from others. Treat all information as clues to be independently confirmed from "sources." I just fielded an indirect inquiry from a person on my AHLU

25. Jacob Fuller [1]
Hi, I am looking for information on a Jacob Fuller not much is known of him before 1850 and census information not very good. He said in 1850 he was born 1790 in PA and in 1860 said he was born 1792 in MD and don't know which is correct. Possibly married twice as is shown in census records 1850 with wife 32 yeaqrs younger than him. He probably died between 1860 and 1870 in Rayne, Indiana County,PA. From census records it looks lke only 4 Fuller families in PA ca 1790 and sure would like to find
