5. [PaCambri] Naturalization Papers [1]
I also found my ancestors in the books at the "Old Jail". Names are very confusing: Augustine Hott showed up as Hot on naturalization papers. Sebastian Hogue papers showed names Hog (the original spelling from Germany), Hogg, Hoag, Hoak, Hoche,Hoke, Houge, Hoge. Seems there was a lot of confusion in Orphan's Court over his will and guardianship of children. Lois Crissman
6. Re: [PaCambri] naturalization [1]
Sharon: I work with the Immigration and Naturalization papers in Indiana County. (1806-1958) In our county, the records are all on microfilm - including indexes. The records prior to 1900 are at the state archives in Harrisburg. The records prior to 1900, of course, do not have as much information as those done after 1904. However, they usually included township of residence (which may help with further research, such as tax records), port of arrival, age on arrival, nationality, date of arrival and, som

9. PS---and OOPS! Re: [PaCambri] Marriages & Deaths from Cambria Tribune 1853-1885 [1]
Sorry--I should have mentioned that Elizabeth Williams (and sisters) were the children of Thomas and Louisa Williams and that the Williams family may still have been living in Prospect, Cambria County, when Elizabeth Williams married WILLIAM Jones (not Thomas Jones). Too much of a hurry! West Taylor is listed at the bottom of the 2nd page of the "other townships" (along with Rosedale Boro). Hope this helps. Mona (Posted in response to a question about where to find prison records) Perhaps this will help --- There are so many "non-population special censuses" that often we forget to check them.
