Hi List,
Everyone has been such a big help with the Behe family name--I am hoping that
my luck will continue with these new names. Does anyone have any info on
Roland Powell, (I believe from Ebensburg) ? He had at least one child, Olive
born around 1909/1910? She married a Charles Giles from the Portage area in
1933. He had been married before and had several children with his first
wife. I can't find them after their marriage application i n 1933. Thanks!

I would deeply appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks in advance

Is anyone out there researching a Jabes Young? Jabes Young was the son of Lewis and Mary Young. Jabes was first married to Frances Pittman who bore him 2 daughters. First daughter Melissa Young married Mathias Phillips. Second daughter Laura Fay Young married Albert Crum.
In 1897 Frances passed away and Jabes remarried Elizabeth Porter who had also been married before. She was the daughter of Jacob and Susan Barker.

I was hoping someone with the Ledoux's books, could look up his birth and
marriage. I show him born 11/2/1819 in Cambria Co. He married

it a double ceremony with his brother Dennis A. Kennedy and her sister
Catherine Arble?
Thank you so much for any help you can give me!

One of the Stutzman schools was an elementary in Westmont, at the corner of
Goucher St and Menoher Blvd, it's now a professional building. The Westmont
Arts center is a half mile or so back towards town on Menoher, and features
the Stutzman log cabin, which is right along the road.

Hi all:
Can someone tell me what, if any, the Catholic cemeteries are in Twin Rocks,
and directions to get to them? I've got Rutledges buried there that I want
to go find this weekend. All I know is that they are buried in Twin Rocks, I
don't know the name of the cemetery. If there aren't any Catholic cemeteries
there, what are the others?
The people I am looking for died in 1930 and 1941, if that narrows it down.
Thanks!

Can anyone tell me any stories about Daisytown from anytime between about 1920-1950? My family was the Byers, originally Beier. There were 9 children. I used to hear stories from my father about the Stegemans and the Moushgats. Also, the school where Mr. Barefoot was the teacher.
Hi all:
The parish directory for Altoona-Johnstown lists Saint Demetrius as the
Catholic Church in Gallitizin. Would this be the same church that was there
in 1885? An obituary I have for my great-great-grandparents states that they
were "married in the Catholic Church in Gallitzin in 1885." It does not give
the name of the church.

Hi,
I have been researching the Irish origins of many Cambria County families
for several years as I search for my Conway, Murphy & McIntire ancestors.
The naturalization records for Cambria County, which I read on LDS
microfilm, contain several Kennedys.
There is a Peter Kennedy who petitions in 1836 and only listed as from
"Ireland."
John Kennedy and Bernard McCloskey were witnesses for the naturilization of
James Reynolds of County Cavan, Ireland in 1840 in Cambria County.

There is a custard stand on Rt. 36 on past the Buckhorn close to Coupon and
Ashville. It's called the Burger Hut but I've heard many call it the Custard
Stand.
I just finished uploading the "K" surname marriage index (Grace Teeter has
transcribed these for the web site), and it looks like this pair applied for
a marriage license in 1896. There's an index entry for:
54-1 1896 KRUIS, John B. OSHALL, Mary C. 14-i93 (not sure what the "i" is
in the volume reference, but this info is not needed to order a copy of the
license). You might want to try and obtain the license from the courthouse.
