Hi Duane :) I found 4 cemeteries in the Johnstown area: Benshoff Hill;
Forest Lawn; Grandview; and Richland. If anyone knows about "Hill Rest"
cemetery, I'd like to know, too. Could it be a private or small, family
cemetery? Or do you have another town/city name? :) Sue

Hi Gene
Eckenrode is my maiden name and my father was from Cambria County. My main
area of research is Eckenrodes in Cambria County and there are a lot of them.
If I have it figured right you are a descendant of Sylvester Melhorn , b 1884,
son of Jonathan Melhorn and Lydia Elmira Eckenrode. I also have information on
your Douglas line from an excellent book called the Hannum family. Elinor

I am throwing away a chance to pay you a visit. Before this reaches you the
28th Regiment will be on its way home where it will remain for thirty days.
I must confess that it is a sore temptation to resist. I do not know what
you will say when you come
Yes- the toll free number only works within the local area. It does make
sense- the folks within the county shouldn't have to pay to call their
courthouse but they also shouldn't cover the costs of those folks outside
the area. Seeing as my parents still live in the county- I appreciate all
efforts to keep their taxes low :)

With regard to information on Birth Certificates:
I have similar copies from the United States and from the Commonwealth of PA.
I have never heard of siblings names, doctors names, order of birth,
addresses, etc. on any birth certificate issued by either the US or
Commonwealth of PA.
Some hospitals issue their own copy of a birth certificate which usually has
the time of birth in addition to what is on the PA or US certificate but not
all do this. It is not the official birth certificate however since t
