Fellow list members:
I have recently received correspondence from someone trying to locate
information about the former "Conemaugh High School." In particular, she is
looking for a list of graduating seniors from that school in 1916. Does
anyone out there have this information, or any ideas where she could obtain
it? Would the school's records have been passed on to its successor, which I
believe is Conemaugh Valley HS?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Just curious:
My great grandmother, Sophia Elizabeth MITCHELL EDMISTON KAUFFMAN and her
second husband Joseph Scidman KAUFFMAN moved to Chenango Co, NY, in the mid
1940's from W. Taylor Twp, Cambria Co, PA. My Dad said it was because some
friends had moved there and were doing better financially than they had in PA.
Coincidentally, there were a number of CUSTER families nearby in Chenango Co.
I was wondering if any of you CUSTER researchers had recent ancestors move up
here to NY? Also, they pronounced i

I'm searching for kin to Chas. Lloyd WERTZ and his wife Katherine SCHMITT. They were married in 1924 and had one daughter that I know of Bettie WERTZ in Apr 1926. Chas. parents Winfield and Harriet Alice CLAAR were originally from Bedford Co. but appeared on the 1910 census for Altoona, Blair Co. Both Chas. and Katherine were previously married, but spouses were not on their marriage record at the Hollidaysburg Courthouse. I believe Chas. died in Beaverdale.
If you can add anything more or check the record

Here is the address for Grandview. They have a computer database for this
very large cemetery and will respond to letters requesting information on
interments there. I got a list of all DECKER's without delay and at no

My great grandmother, Bridget had a brother DENNIS BURKE, who was living in
Johnstown at the time of Bridget's death in 1938.
Dennis had other brothers as follows: William Burke of Washington, PA.
Richard and Peter Burke of Pittsburgh. Thomas Burke of Akron, Ohio. Nellie
Burke,sister, of Grafton W.V.
DENNIS BURKE was probably born in the 1860's.
Does anyone know of any Burke ancestors I may have? I'd appreciate any
help. Thanks. Jill (Lowe3@prodigy.net)
Hello listers!
I know this is not a genealogy posting, and i hope no one minds, but I
just wanted to say this...
Since it is Veteran's Day.....I just wanted to say "Thank You" to ALL
the veteran's! Especially to the vet's from Cambria County.
My father, Tom McQuillan, left for Europe during WW2 from SouthFork.
He has told me of being on the train, leaving to go to war, and seeing
his father sitting on the porch of their home while the train went past
his house, and Oh...How he wanted to stay home. Being a y
