On June 30 Lois Long Carey sent an interesting message re the 1860 census of Fluvanna Co, VA. One head of household was Joseph W. Pace b 1805-1807 VA, married to Catherine L. Maddox b. 1823 VA. Joseph was a 4th generation descendant of John Pace of Middlesex. I was aware of Joseph's first two children, Archelaus b. 1846 and Sarah Jane b. 1848, but the 1860 census shows the following additional children: Jesse b 1853, Susan b. 1855, Joseph L. b 1856, Albert W. b. 1858, Jacob C. b. 1858.

Thanks to both Linda and Charles Hartley for their reply. I am specifically looking at Marriage Bonds in Henry County, VA for the following two brothers who I believe are sons of John Pace b. 1751:
2 Aug. 1847 Marriage Bond Greenville T. Pace and Lucy C. Trotter. He had a marriage Bond with Nancy Hughes 28 Aug. 1834. Was Lucy C. Trotter his second wife?
11 Sept. 1828 Marriage Bond James B. Pace and Caroline M. Hunter. Then on 26 Jan. 1847 James B. Pace had a Marriage Bond with Lucy E. Taylor. Was Luc

Greenville T. Pace was a son of Capt. John Pace and his consort, Mary
Baker. The only marriage I have for Greenville is to Lucy Trotter on
2 Aug 1847 in Henry Co VA.
James Baker Pace was Greenville's full brother. I did not have a
spouse for him, but I will add the one you sent.
Sorry I can't provide more information.

What did your ancestors have for breakfast?
My ancestors generally had fewer sons than daughters, and recently
published research suggests that this may have been a result of their
diet.
The researchers studied the eating habits of 740 mothers who were
expecting their first child, and discovered that those with a higher
energy intake (especially breakfast cereals) were 20% more likely to give
birth to sons than those with a lower intake. The findings may help
explain the fallin

Correction: I was led to believe that Joseph W. Pace of Fluvanna Co, VA was a 4th generation descendant of John Pace of Middlesex, through Joseph's supposed father, Jesse Pace, Jr. b. abt 1788, m. Catherine Pace abt. 1817 in Goochland Co, VA. However, Joseph was born 1805-1807, so he could only have been a son of Jesse Jr. if Jesse had an unknown first wife and then it would be barely possible as Jesse would have been 19 or less. So I would consider Joseph's ancestry probably unknown.

she says She is researching ghe Baileys and a Temple Bailey was a witness at

I believe the below obituary might be for JOHN D. PACE, born about 1834,
son of Thomas William Pace and Drucilla [Anderson/Davis] of Abbeville,
SC. It's a lovely obituary, and full of names, as well.
Also, I read a comment (by someone who hasn't replied to my query) that
Thomas William Pace [son of John Pace and Sarah] married Drucilla DAVIS,
the sister of my JOHN DAVIS who married Sarah Jane PACE]. Does anyone
know more about this? Perhaps she also married a Mr. Anderson? All of
them in Abbeville
I am trying to add the Pace's of Linn County, Missouri to my files.

1824 LaRue County, Kentucky. Does anyone have this family grouping?
