I suspect that your Newsom/Nusom is from the John of Middlesex line.
John had aon Newsome mentioned in John's will. This Newsome was born 6
February 1708 and died 6 October 1738. William and Susanna (?) PACE
had a son Newsome born 1754 and died 1854. He married Mary NUNN. This
Newsome enlisted at age age of 22 in the army from Pittsylvania county

Golly! Doris, Congratulations are in order for having a guard to the commander -in-chief himself!!
William Pace! The rest of us would like to claim him as our umteenth ggreat grandpa. I
bought the discs for DAR Applications program and heard that CAR is going to
get them for their applic papers too.(I have my 4 grandchildren in CAR) That's great you are going to LA & will visit The SAR library! Is that where the SAR library is that is comparable to
the DAR one in DC?
Another set of DNA results has come. The donor was of the John of Middlesex
line, from his son William. The 12 marker match was perfect for John of
Middlesex group 2. This seems to further validate this group as the true
offspring of John of M. The 12 marker test in this case is as good as a 25
marker, due to the unique alleles at markers 3, 4, and 5. FTDNA says there
are so few individuals who have these numbers at these three alleles that
when you get a perfect 12 marker match including these alleles,

I see I neglected to tell you that William who married Sussanna (?) is
a grandson of John of Middlesex. His parents were William PACE amd
Elizabeth Montague daughter of Thomas Montague.

Hello All!
I am new to this mailing list, William Marion Pace is my husband's great grandfather, born in Iowa about 1865. He lived many years in North Dakota and was married to Ida Olive Melton (also born in Iowa in Feb 1869). He had 2 daughters, Lulu Mae Pace (my husband's grandmother, born in Gunnison Colorado in Sept 1895) and Emma Pace born in North Dakota in 1892. Ida and William divorced and she moved out west to Washington state while he remained in North Dakota and remarried. I find him with his st

I presented a paper on Thomas PACE at the annual meeting in Jackson.
Although incomplete I have copies of the handout available for any who

contains 25 court documents on Thomas PACE in Old Rappannock and
Richmond counties. I do not believe he is the son of Richard and Mary

an inherited English title, 2. He was married three times and had no

To all of you who did not attend the Jackson reunion -- you missed a
great meeting. Bruce Howard did a great job in choosing a hotel that
had the most cooperative staff I have ever seen. The staff was most
accommodating. Bruce had a Pace coffee mug for all of us as well as
pecans and candy -- everyone had something to enjoy at all times --
Jack Pace did an outstanding job in selecting papers to be presented.
We all came away knowing much more about DNA. Do make plans not to go

Hello List,
A researcher in Port Huron, MI helped me find a real
treasure for the several descendants of Frederick E.
Pace of New Jersey (1806-1891) on this list. His
obituary from the Port Huron Daily Times on August 24,
1891. A great deal of info contained:
"Mr. Frederick E. Pace, who died on Saturday
afternoon, August 22nd after a complication of
diseases incident to old age, had been a resident of
this city and county for thirty years. Mr. Pace was
born near Schooley's Mountain in the State of New

Doris,
Thanks for the additional information. You have given me another possible
clue. Isham Pace was killed in Vicksburg in 1838. I have not found anyone else on
the list who seems to know much about him. I have always wondered about his
name since it is definitely not that common. I wonder if he could be named
after Henry Isham or one of his ancestors? When was Henry born? Do you know much
about the Isham family and where they lived? Isham Pace was born in NC moved to

I previously reported that Antony Pace matches 22/25 with group 3 on our DNA chart, those who believe they are descendents of Richard Pace II. I asked FTDNA if this could be considered a match, and in their estimation, no. One very slow moving marker (390) was especially significant to them in denying a match.
a 23/25 match, according to the best current estimates, yields a 50% probability of MRCA (Most Recent Common Ancestor) at 28 generations back. Pretty far, and Antony was a 22/25, not 23/25. Richa
Dear List members,
I tried to email Bruce Howard and the address given for the Pace Society Reunion Host, but those messages have bounced back. Would someone who is attending the reunion this weekend please give them a message from me. I can't attend due to illness, and wanted to let someone know to cancel my Saturday night banquet meal. Thanks to all, and have a wonderful time. I'll be thinking of you all.
