Hi! I'm new to the list, but two surnames in my family show up in Lower
Oxford, Chester County PA in the 1820's. Would anyone have any information
on the following:
Ann THOMAS b. 1811
David THOMAS b. 1812/3
Lewis CHRISTY b. 1807
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I am looking for anyone researching th sur names Kirkpatrick or Tarrence in
the Chester and Delaware county areas. I have an Abraham Jones that I am
researching. I believe his middle name may have been Kirkpatrick, and that his
middle name comes from his mothers maiden name. However, I have no idea what
her first name was. Abraham was born in 1759. He married a Ruth Tarrence in
the 1st Presbyterian Church in Phila. in 1795.
Sound familiar to anyone ?

I recently received the death certificate of my grgrandfather, Robert L.
Newlin, and on it was listed his place of birth - Chester County, Pa - and
his parents, Elijah Newlin and wife Ruth Frame Newlin. Robert was born in
1845 and died in Ohio, in 1935. Is anyone familiar with Elijah and Ruth,or
their son, Robert L?

I think this is my ancestor, George Smedley, not Sedley, who married Sarah
Kitchen Goodwin.
George born 1657 Derby(?), Derbyshire, died 1723 Williston PA. I am not
certain that the town was Derby: I will recheck my files and advise if it
is not.

Hi,
I wondered if anyone would mind doing a two of look-ups for me. I don't
think they should be too difficult because I have the dates. I was told they
were born in Chester, Co.
I'm looking for the place of birth for the following.
William Gause Pennypacker, 5 October 1834, son of Matthias & Mary (Gause)
Pennypacker, residents of Chester Co.
Edgar M. Pennypacker, b. 4 March 1881, son of William G. and Sallie A.

I have a member of my WEST line (William Ash West) buried in
Unionville in 1928. Thats all the identification of the cemetery the
death certificate gives. I see from the Chester Co web site that there
is a Friends Burial Ground in Unionville. Does anyone know if there
are other cemeteries in the town? I can't find any in the web yellow
pages. I would love for William to have been Quaker, since it fits a
working theory I had been pursuing. I might get lucky and find an
older family plot. (Be still

Colin,
I am going to be on one of my semi-annual visits to England later this
month. Mostly I plan to do 7-8 days of long distance walking in Yorkshire,
probably along the portion of the Coast-to-Coast path in the Yorkshire
Dales. If at some point the weather forecast is for three or four days of
rainy weather though, I'll be looking for other things to do. Maybe I'll get
down to Chester, though I rather doubt it. Another long distance footpath
that intrigues me is the Offa's Dyke Path which has its northe
Hi
I've just been to the Ancestry Com. web page and looked
up my surname SINKER and found that there are
supposedly 9 of them in the 1890 Philadelphia City
Directory. I don't have access to their database as I am
not a subcriber. I do feel this must be an error and am not
keen to pay money to them just to find out that the info is
wrong. I can't see how there can be any Sinkers there at
that time or anytime for that matter.
Is there anyone who might have access to that directory
who check this ou
