The Patrick County Census of 1870
Listing is as copied from the microfilm. There are likely to be
some errors in name spelling due to inability to decipher the
handwriting. I have made corrections wherever verification was
available. If in doubt, refer to the microfilm.
Sex/Race: Male and female are easily discernable by the letters
m and f. Race however is noted as; w=white, b=black, and m=mulatto. In

Here is what I found hidden in my old laptop computer.
Samuel Pack, son of George Pack and Mary Brown, was born in 1780. He
married Jane Brown on 11-11-1801 in Monroe Co., VA. Jane was born 1785
in Monroe. Children of this marriage include:

Hi Carol
Thanks for answering me. Jeremiah was born in NC in 1794, exact place is
unknown to me. He married Mary (Polly) Bridges.
If you run across him sometime, please keep me in mind. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Haney Pack
Elizabeth "Betsy" Rollyson, born 1821, was the daughter of R.S. and May
Rollyson. Betsy married John Pack on 1-22-1864. Betsy would be my great
great grandmother.
This is so weird. I'm looking at the 1880 Census for Summers Co. and it
says that John Pack is 73 and Elizabeth is 59. She would have been 43
when her first child, Mahala, was born; 45 when Albert was born and 50
when Jefferson Tom was born. Does anyone else think this seems just a
little unlikely? Also why would it list her as a housekeep
My James BOYD married an Abigail BROWN on 12/29/1824. I have found that
he married again in 1830 a Sarah PACK from Augusta Co. VA. She was the
d/o Samuel Pack and Jane BROWN.
I have a Death Certificate for a Hughey BOYD of Lawrence Co. b. Aug. 6,
1827 d. Sept. 19, 1914. Parents: James BOYD and Abygill BROWN both from
VA.

Laurie,

I'm reading the book "History of Summers County, WV" by Judge James H
Miller. Judge Miller takes it upon himself to paint a very nasty
picture of most of our ancestors. He must not have liked very many
people because almost every person in this book is made out to be a
criminal. Maybe they voted against him in some election.
On Page 819 he goes into detail about the killing of Riley Armstrong on
May 23, 1891. E. Brown Pack, son of Richard Pack, descendant of Samuel
Pack was indicted for the murder, sen
