Thanks for the information. Can you tell me in what County would this area
have been considered a part of?
It was definitely considered to be unsafe to be in Western Pa. in 1790. But
These were pioneers & they were looking for land & elbow room. I would
imagine Armstrong count was sparsely populated in 1790 as was 75% of
Pennsylvania.

Hi: Dont have any idea if this is worth anything but my husband's

Tom,
Thanks for sharing this site. I also shared it with others. I hope
you all have a wonderful holiday weekend and this is a good reminder of the
reason for this SPECIAL holiday. We should not forget why we have this
freedom and remember to keep honor and the understanding in our celebration.

I am still searching for the burial place of my
great-great-great-grandparents: John GRINDER (d: 11-1839 Redbank Twp,
Armstrong Co.) and his wife Hannah (HETRICK) GRINDER (d: 1838). I have his
estate papers but it does not state where they are buried. I've located the
Orphans records indicating the minor children at their death. Death records
were not kept in Armstrong County at that time. Their names could be listed
as one of these variations: GRINDER/GREINER/ GRINER. This is around the time

Hi y'all,
I'm not sure who is doing marriage look-ups, but I'd
appreciate one:
James E. Franklin who was born abt. 1876 in Mass.
He was in the 1880 Census, living in East Brady, Clarion County
and died between June, 1880 and June, 1900.
In the 1880 Census, he was shown as married to ELLEN LOWERY.
Lowery was probably her married name as she had children named
George Lowery & Daniel C. Lowery living with she & James in 1880.
James & Ellen had one daughter together, Adaline Franklin who was born
in March 1879
I've been trying to locate information on my Porters in Clarion County. I
know Clarion County wasn't formed until the 1830's. And it (at least parts
of it) were Venango County prior to that. But if my Porters lived in this
area in 1786, what county was it then? Does anyone know. I've printed off
some old maps to try to determine but am still not sure - Northampton,
Lycoming?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! What am I doing wrong?
On your Home Page all I get is NEWS.
On your gravemarkers page, I couldn't get anything either.
I'm sure it's my inadequate knowledge of web pages, but please enlighten
me.

Can anyone help me locate information on the marriage of my great
grandparents:
FREDERICK WALKER b 1828 and HANNAH BARR b 1833. They were married 10
April 1852 in Clarion County. Information from Frederick's Civil War pension
papers. I don't know anything about her family and would just love to locate
her parents. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sue, Thank you for the information on my Bittenbender line in PA. You
mentioned Alexander McNaughton(who is your 5th great grandfather). Do you
know if a Mary McNaughton (1823 - 1898) is from this same line? She married
a William Boyd (1813 - ~1892) in 1840. This union produced 12 children
total. One daughter Sarah C., married a George Washington Frazier. As near
as I can tell, this was also near Helen Furnace.

Dear Pat,
My Samuel Bowser was born August 11, 1870 in Sang Run District, Garrett Co.,
MD. He married Annie May Hohenshell June 24, 1893 in Elk Lick Twp., Somerset
Co, PA. I don't have a date of death yet.
Garrett County is close to the PA southeast border as the Bowser family
seemed to go back and forth from Garrett Co. and Somerset alot.
I have some papers on the Bowser family and I will look to see if I run
across another Samuel in the group. It was a big family and chances are
likely that the

That is the wackiest thing I have ever seen, I have no idea where that news
stuff came from, probably an AOL thing.

Hi y'all,
I'd like another lookup if possible. This time it's on the marriage
of George Washington Flick to Matilda "unknown". I'm not sure where
George was born, but he was born abt 1847 in PA. Matilda was born
abt. 1850. They had 2 children together, Minerva who was born abt 1850
and James C. Flick who was born in Dec, 1872. George's father & mother
were Casper & Nancy (Smith) Flick. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
