Warsaw, Indiana (my hometown) and I do have his service record, since he

I would put my money on Millersburg that is in Upper Paxton. The names are
all ones you find in Upper Paxton and Halifax area. Halifax area continued
to be a shoe manufacturing area into the 1900's.
Thanks for the look up in the census Susan.

I would suggest that you allow an extra day or two for your trip if
possible. I drove from Harrisburg to Chicago one time and it took 11 hours.
You have about 250 miles from Harrisburg to the Ohio line via turnpike and
150 or 200 miles if you went across the southern border of Ohio plus
anything in Indiana. You really wouldn't have the time to do much research
here - especially since some places are not open or have shorter hours on
Saturdays. Even coming on a Thursday and returning on Sunday would give

Hi Elaine,
Since you put this on the Dauphin Co. list, I think you must be referring to Middletown not Middleton.
If so the answer would be the Press and Journal of Middletown and I believe they have a website.

I noted you requested information on the location of a HEUCHER FARM
GRAVEYARD some time ago. E.W.S.Parthemore documented that burial
ground, and published in Egle's "Notes and Queries" Fourth Series
Volume II page 347.
He mentioned the families lived there for a century or more, but
his records indicate they never owned the farm. Parthemore lists
the owners from the original patent or grant up to the present Shope
family. While the graveyard has HUECHERs, they were not the owners

Dru, your mailbox will not except email from me. To answer your question:
Sorry, no, I don't have the deed you listed.
Hello Sheri,
Your Krichbaum surname caught my eye on the Dauphin Co. ListServ because
I have a 4th great grandfather, Johannes Adam Krichbaum (1727-1779). He
arrived in America from Germany on 2 Sep 1749 aboard the ALBANY. He and
his brother, Johann Wilhelm Krichbaum (1718-1791), were both married 1
May 1749 in the Evangelische (Lutheran) parish in Neukirchen, and they
sailed together with their new brides to America.
A Krichbaum>Krigbaum ListServ was started in November last year. It

I'm also interested in Egles Notes. Are they in most libraries in major

may be able to shed some light on your search of the other surnames
listed. Good luck :) Charlie Fies
