Hi,
I'm trying to find any info on the parents and siblings of John McGlaughlin who was born April 7, 1819 in Marcus Hook.
He later married Mary Ann Mayfield in 1848.
Mary Ann was living in the home of a preacher there, Rev. Joseph Walker, who also married them.
John & Mary's first child, Joseph Walker McGlaughlin was born in Marcus Hook on January 22, 1849.
They left Delaware County after that.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kat
Dear Folks: I am trying to find my missing KLIGGE family in the mid
1800's. They arrived in the US in October, 1844 from Germany. My
understanding was they settled immediately in Philadelphia but most of them
have not been found in either the 1850 or 1860 census.
I know that at least one member, William KLIGGE lived and worked on a farm
"in the country", perhaps in Deleware Co.
Can anyone with access to a census index help me find the following in 1850
and 1860?
(Approximate ages given in 1850)

I've been off these lists for some time, but want to get going in genealogy
again, so I'm going to try to do a post per day (if not several more) to get
my surnames out there again. Feel free to email with additional questions.
Just be advised that my schedule is unpredictable, so it may be 1-3 days for
me to reply depending on that schedule. Thanks!
My main surname for this area is PETERS. Ah, what a winding road this search
has been! I've been in contact with John O. Peters and others who are

I'm researching my husband's family, and Marvil's funeral home in Darby has
been wonderfully helpful with pinpointing death dates and burial places.
Last night my father-in-law mentioned another funeral home used by the
family, Leach's (not sure of spelling). I'd love to contact them if they're
still in business but couldn't find them in computer "yellow pages." Has
anyone ever heard of them or know if they might still be in business under
another name? The approximate time frame would have been 1920's t
If you can email me tonight, I might be able to
find something for you. I'm going to a local
research library early tomorrow morning.
But you will need to tell me what you are looking
for in that vol 23.

Hi,
I'm John WILLIAMS of the UK & new to the mailing list.
I am trying to trace my relatives who emigrated to the USA in the

In Goshen Monthly Minutes (Hinshaw Index), there is one reference to an
Israel Davis who was disowned 5th month 11, 1787. With that date, you could
write to Friends Historical Library at Swarthmore to see what the reason for
his disownment was and if it mentions where he was living. The Index has
only: "5-11-1787 Israel dis." It's possible that this Israel Davis was a son
of Ellis and Lydia (Ashbridge) Davies/Davis, who was born 1760.
There are many Jameses mentioned, but not until 1820 when a J
