1. listowners (ref. one more time) [1]
You might have noted the absence of ohio-valley-l@rootsweb.com from the CC list-- it is because I subtracted it. It is the only one that has a "closed" list-- you can only post to it if you are a member. It is their safeguard against spammers. Several on that list I thought had already done this-- what happened? Of course it may be that the Ohio List was the only one I got a message from-- others might be closed and you just don't get a message back. At any rate, I guess you know you can choose this pr

David, I have read your, et al., comments... You make some crucial points, and while I was surprised at the callousnous of some, the belittling of the problem, the gloss-over solutions... Fact is, you describe the problem-- any solutions, besides "Now children, stop it?" The idea to only submit what you know to be documented fact would work-- 99% of the time. But documents are sometimes in error, and I'd rather have a GB of "maybes" than a database someone has climbed onto a stack-of-Bibles with that ha

On Dec.2, 1895 Joseph and Missoura McIntosh were going home to Brownsville, Pa. by a dog boat when they and three other men and one woman ran into the steamship James G. 9. Re: Woodbridgetown Church Records [0.974786]
Hi Everybody, Just in case anyone is wondering about how many families with the surnames listed in the cemetary are still living in the Uniontown area, I would say quite a few. I recognized a lot of the surnames as people that I either went to school with or taught. In fact, one of my friends, Patti Deli is married to a DAVID and teaches in Albert Gallatin School Dictrict. So you might want to try People Search or 411. Just my 2 cents here. Linda

To help you connect to my RYANS. My Great Grandfather was William J RYAN born 1868 from the Mahanoy City area of PA. His parents are both from Ireland as shown on the 1900 Phila Census. In 1900 he is shown living in Phila with his wife's family and his own family. I have not found out when they all moved to Phila , but I assume it was shortly after 1890. I have a recreated baptismal certificate from St Canicus Church in Mahanoy City for Oct 16 1868 for William RYAN born on Oct 12 1868. Father

I wrote a more lengthy response to Dave, but I wanted to share a condensed response to the group. I have found information from a variety of sources including Ancestry files and World Family Tree files. My suggestion is to be sure to include the source information when submitting to these types of collections. WFT however, blots out the source information and lists the source as WFT instead of where the submitter found it. We can help each other by including our sources with the "Notes" portion of the
