Hi-
I am wondering if Victoria, Pennsylvania, is in Fayette County? Victoria is where my Mother was born, and by the map I have looked at, I couldn't tell if it was in Fayette or not. If someone could clarify that, I would be very grateful.
Thank you-
Sheryl Behling

Is there anyone researching any of the surnames LONGANECKER, HATFIELD,
ETLING , LIVENGOOD, OR BREAKIRON families from Fayette County. I know
they were in this area in the early 1900's and possibly in the
Westmoreland area near Scottdale. Will share information that I have.

Nobody has mentioned that the Civil War Pension Index is on-line as of last

you find an ancestor on the list, you select view and the pension card pops
up for viewing.

Jack,
In FAMILY SEARCH most of your names are listed in Ancestral File: Mary
Jackman, Shull/Scholl, and Knisely/Kniesly. Members of the same family often
spelled the name differently. Have not yet found a connection with my
Kniesly names, though in York Co. also. There is also a Martha Toot, but
not married to Shull.

Thanks Ed for the prompt reply: We have searched for that cemetery online
in the past, but have no reference anywhere to it. We understand that only
since 1990 has Greenlick Cemetery been owned by Paradise Methodist Church.
("Karen" had answered some queries we had posted a number of months ago, and
helped us find this information.)
We hope that someone will eventually be able to survey Greenlick Cemetery
and get the names online, especially those in the oldest section. We have
an ancestor who was buried
Greetings:
I am very fortunate to get to meet so many wonderful people from the
Fayette List. Many times I have the pleasure of introducing some of our
friends to each other while they are visiting the Pennsylvania Room. We
have the best patrons. They are very dedicated to the Pennsylvania
Room. It is great to meet with people in person that we have
corresponded with via the internet. This week we saw many of the Fayette
List Subscribers. All were more than willing to help each other and
compare notes

Hi listers,
I'm still trying to identify Elizabeth GILES', (my gg grandmother's), father.
The 1810 census for Fayette county shows Jacob GILES living in Dunbar
township with two daughters who could be Elizabeth. Does anybody know
anything about the building of GILES house? The first reference I find to it
is Isaac MEASON moving in in 1815. "History of Fayette County,
Pennsylvania" gives the impression that it got the "Giles House" name from
Thomas GILES who lived there from about 1860 to 1880.

Hi,
I plan on going to Indian Head for a couple of weeks to do some family research. Does anyone now if there is a internet provider for the Connellsville area? I've checked AOL and Prodigy to name a few, they have a access number in Greensburg, which would be a long distance phone call for me. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi, Folks,
Having spent a good bit of my professional career in association with health statistics
folks, including the vital records people, I find it especially thrilling when I see that
some of their huge databases are finally being placed online. [Worked on the CA folks
for years, pestering them to do so and now I'm astounded with what they've released!
Perhaps now they realize what a great marketing tool this can be for them, helping them
sell the certificates, which generates funds for them to do t
