Hi Terry,
Late 1800 marriages can be found in the court house in Uniontown,
Fayette County, Penna. Register of Wills Office. They will look up maybe
one marriage or so for you, but beyond that they will tell you to hire a
researcher to do it, and I can understand why. There are so many in the
indexes, and it is all by hand. The good thing about it is that the
marriage applications have lots of important genealogy information on
them.
There is a book in the Uniontown Library that has something about early
Hi, I just saw Grant's response to your email. Although it is true that
Uniontown is not on a river, you might want to try the Masontown, Point
Marion, Gray's Landing area. I am trying to remember where Rice's
Landing is, but I have not lived in Fayette county since 1976. I know
there was another ferry in the area because I remember using one when I
was little. I think it was somehere near Thompson#2 and Penncraft area.
But those places are not near Uniontown. Since it appears from your
email address that y

Has anyone heard of any reference to the "Tent"
in Fayette County? I don't know if that has anything
to do with the Dunkards or not, but supposedly George
Custer and his family resided at the"Tent" when they
first came to Fayette County. Sound familiar?
Thanks again everyone!

Hi Gang,
I just wanted to remind everyone that if you are planning a trip this
week, and there might be a possibility that your e-mail box will become
full, it would be prudent to unsubscribe before leaving, and then
subscribe again upon your return home.
And for what it is worth, it is not a good idea to post to any list, or
the Net in general, that you are going to be out of town, or away from
home.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Holiday with your families, and
loved ones, and don't forget to take
Does anyone have the 1920 Census? I need a look-up of Joseph Keilbach and

into anymore look-ups this long! :) I'll never get anything else done.
I hope there is someone in here for whom you have been searching. That
will make it all worthwhile to me.
Good luck. BTW- If you want the book that covers both cemeteries,

Hi All- My mail seems not to be functioning well. I sent this earlier but it
